Good Idea, would be very interesting to see differences especially on new tracks.

Any pointers on getting started with it? Would you take a laptop and study the data in the pit area and try new lines etc... each session?

Yeah, it really helps pull you along - you can input what your car 'can do' then it will turn the track red where you can pick up time, very very handy!

The videos and some of the sample data is where I would start, I learned how to use the software pretty quickly like this and it all 'stuck'. I have tried to use it on the day but it's a bit hectic, not so bad with a race meeting where you're only on track for an hour over the course of the weekend, but might be tricky on a track day.

Ok great, thanks for the tips.

When you say put on there what the car can do. Are you talking about loading shared maps from other similar cars?

Is this kind of data available?

No worries.

You can find what the max g (lateral and longitudinal) you pulled in any one session, then set up a simulation car (weight, drag, power, gear ratio, tyre size, max g, and maybe a few more I forgot) and it will show you what it's capable of by turning the track map different colours.

So basically, here, I'm a bit early on the brakes in two points, and a bit late on the power in another, but the rest is that's greeny / blue is 'ok':
