Captain Colonial Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 When I was last in Spain, I noticed that the flat we were in had a fire blanket in the kitchen (this is pretty much standard required equipment, I think) in a dispenser on the wall. There were instructions on it (in Spanish, of course) with helpful illustrations on what you should do in the event of a fire - all good and well. But it seems that Spanish fires have one thing in common - they always involve people wearing a hat or headgear (see photo below, click to embiggen): And the Spanish are not big head gear wearers...now surely the solution is to never wear anything on your head while in Spain to avoid being burnt in a tragic blaze? Or is it that 2 out of 3 Spanish people with head gear carry fire blankets with them at all times, while the third one is liable to combust at any time, so you should always avoid a Spanish person with head gear and no fire blanket? I may be on to something here! Quote
SootySport Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Thanks for bringing that theory up Scott, I will in future avoid Spanish people wearing hats whilst cooking. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 Or maybe it's that holding a fire blanket in Spain causes fires, or flames shoot out of the blankets? The example above shows two different people holding blankets with flames in front of them, and maybe the poor sod on fire in the second drawing was innocently going about his own business when the man with the fire-shooting blanket attacked him? So many possibilities... Quote
Captain Colonial Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 And the directions in the second one...what the devil does a fire blanket have to do with reducing llamas? Are excessive numbers of llamas caising a problem in Spain, or is it that the blanket makes giant llamas smaller? Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Llama's are known for being quite flamable in Spain, it must be all that wool. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 Llama's are known for being quite flamable in Spain, it must be all that wool. Aaaaaah...that makes sense to me! Quote
M444TTB Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Someone tell Scott's carer he hasn't taken his medication again Quote
Captain Colonial Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 Listen mate - when you escape certain death because you run away after seeing a hat-wearing Spanish llama coming at you with a flame-throwing blanket, you'll thank me. Quote
pistonbroke Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Calling Hose A the spanish fireman to the boardroom please Quote

bhouse Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Scott - where do you buy your super-strength gin? Quote
Wile E. Coyote Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Scott: do they also use that elephant repellent paint on the roads round your way? Our road has a couple of lines of it across the junction, and we've never had an elephant make it over it... Quote
KugaWestie Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Do you think the person on fire in the right hand picture has been lighting farts? Quote
Captain Colonial Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 Scott - where do you buy your super-strength gin? Can't drink - hat-wearing Spanish llamas with flame-throwing blankets will get me. Scott: do they also use that elephant repellent paint on the roads round your way? Our road has a couple of lines of it across the junction, and we've never had an elephant make it over it... Elephant are much faster than you think. Their road crossing speed is amazing, the blink of an eye. Or are elephants just afraid of you and give your house a wide berth? Do you think the person on fire in the right hand picture has been lighting farts? Possibly, but doing it while dressed is not very safe. Quote
