martyblues Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Norman, if you're receiving good sound and picture in rainy weather, then you are not far away. I would leave any further tuning for a nicer day when the signal will be stronger. Quote
Norman Verona Posted September 6, 2013 Author Posted September 6, 2013 Marty, it was clear this afternoon. Final update. I went up armed with the meter. I had disconnected one of the cables from the Humax receiver. The TV was on and volume up so I could hear it from the roof. I removed the cables one ata a time from the LMB. Of course it was the fourth cable. I then connected th meter. Set at 0 db it read 2. If I turned it down (to -6) it still stayed on 2. If I turned it to +6 it read 10 and screeched. No matter how carefully I reduced it it went directly back to 2. I did manage to get it to 9. I then moved the dish left to right. The meter didn't move. So I moved it right until the sound went off, then slowly to the left until it came back on and went off again. I set that plane in the centre. I then did the same with the up-down plane. All tightened I refitted the cable and came down. The TV in the kitchen now has 4 bars instead of 3. I'm bored now so that'll ahve to do. Quote
