SootySport
sooty needs educating...unless his comments were tounge in cheek? I did say that I haven't found one a nice pub with nice beer up your neck of the woods and I don't doubt there are a few around.
Norman Verona
Bernie, there's far more than a "few". You've probably been to the wrong places. Try any village in the Peak Park and you'll find good hand pulled real ale.
Andy Banks
Here's some of my faves from oop north. The Head of Steam - Huddersfield Station Rat and Ratchet - Huddersfield Town West Riding Refreshment Rooms - Dewsbury Station There's also a few decent pubs with decent beer along the Pennistone Line and in Leeds. tolf
The problem is not with the beer taste, when the local has any it is very nice. Normally they have a good selection of ale, but just after the refurb, they are always running out Clearly they did not anticipate demand. I dont want to move up north, norm. Very happy down south! SootySport
Probably because it's summer, pubs always sell more beer when it's hot and sunny Ian. Just thought ---now they don't get hot and sunny up north, do they?
Andy Banks
LOL This thread may be in danger of drifting into a North / South debate. Suffice to say that our new 'spoons is not living up to expectations just now despite massive investment. Another for my list oop north, well Oxford. The Turf

tolf
Sooty Its cause the new manager of the pub is crap, plenty of beer before the refurb and we have had a lovely hot summer down south since june. Plenty of pubs to visit
