Buzz Billsberry Posted May 6, 2003 Posted May 6, 2003 Well this has got to be one of the most enjoyable weekends I've had since Coughboro' 2000 .Fantasitic weather, fantasic company and a fantasitc car. I nearly decided to camp but because it was the back end of the Sacmmonden monsoon season.I got to share a room @ the Londesboro' Hotel in Seamer with Mike 'Victory' Ashton. Absolute top value Hotel. I did n't get there until 10 o'clock after dumping the car/trailer @ Ollies. When I arrived in the bar only Lindsey P, Kev Bamz and the Schumacher boys were there then Rhyis, Penny, & Tim Nun Turned up about half 10 after a long drive. Obviously we didn't go 'ravin' on the drink side of things 4 me it was a get to know everybody. On the saturday I couldn't believe the weather it was excellent, but the same couldn't be said for Steve Robinson He was trying to do an impression of being a live or was it a traffic light ! It was a ledged that there was a bit of a drinking campaign @ Robinson Manor with Turbo Tommo, Tom 'Iceman' Green and they had gotten thro' around 3 litres of wine each!! Sufice to say it showed a few cracks in Mr Robinsons armour As for the other 2 Tom seemed his usually happy self.Tommo well, he looked like he'd not touch a drop!! Turbo Tommo Looks like Bruce Forsythe,he's built like a racing Snake and drinks like a whale. I bet Steve D could'nt out drink this dark horse!! The day went very well and the weather was pretty good.As for my car, It was great.. a totally different beast. The new ATB and the poly bushes made the car 100% better, much more predictable and not as nervious and an absolute ball to drive. On top of that I had no problems with the engine that I'd rebuilt over the winter, all this was proved after beating my best time of last year by 2secs I was a happy man As for the saturday night entertainment in the hotel. What a great laugh, plus the club singer Mr Colonel what a singer but 4 most of the evening the focus of attention was place firmly at the foot of Bamz's door. After he let Tim Nunn double drive his car,Tim whipped Bamz's ass well it kept myself and Mike Ashton fuelled with buse for the rest of the night! It just goes to prove when u get a good driver behind the wheel of a good car you can see how fast it really can go & of course Mr Nunn stuck plenty of daggers in as well Poor ole' Kev he was a broken man by the time we were thrown out of the bar@ 3am. It's not nice to see a grown man with his head in his hands cryin' As for Richard Schumacher, don't mention 2 stroke motor bikes to him, he'll go off on one..Its not that he doesn't like bikes, its just that facking ring ding ding ding ding, it does my head in I really enjoyed saturday night. It was a real hoot lots of fun and great company... thank you all Apparenty Kev has been checked into the JVCE(Jacque Villeneuve Clinic for Excuses) and his having serious course of treatment. But it seems from the initial consultation that the guy just can't drive. From the Clinic he will be released into the Play Station 2 Community to be re-assessed before he will be allowed back into pubic arena Thanks to everybody a great weekend and Leeds beat the Aersnal................ MIKEASHTON Posted May 6, 2003 Posted May 6, 2003 but 4 most of the evening the focus of attention was place firmly at the foot of Bamz's door. After he let Tim Nunn double drive his car,Tim whipped Bamz's ass Even though Tim car wasn't ready, it was still a case of 'The car in front WAS a Toyota' and probably still will be all season. But never mind Kev, at least you know the car is capable of going faster. The ironic thing is Kev, although Tim only just beat you last year, it goes to show that your car must have been significantly better than his !!!!!! Quote
ACW Posted May 6, 2003 Posted May 6, 2003 Mental note to self: NEVER LEND CAR - Especially not to Mr. Nunn Quote
Kev Bamber Posted May 6, 2003 Posted May 6, 2003 I'll tell you what his time was was... slower than mine by more than Leeds' financial debt! i'll be back shortly with some more decent excuses Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted May 7, 2003 Author Posted May 7, 2003 Buzz, what was your time on Sunday......... 48.15 I think, didn't look at the times .U beat me tho' u did late 47's didn't u? But I had 8psi in the rear left, 12 in RR, 18FR & 16FL, and the shocker settings were all over the place not a bad excuse tho? oh and another good one, It was the 1st time I'd driven it in anger on the 1st event of the year!!!!! Ollies was a test session for me just to see if my abilities of engine building was any good, as will the Track day at Cadwell on monday 12th May. I'm trying to get into new Brighton so thats my next SS event Well done Tommo and congrates on your first SS win C U Soon Buzz Quote
Mark Stanton Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 Well done Tommo and congrates on your first SS win Was it a 16 point max That'll learn ya Quote
MIKEASHTON Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 If it was, that make both him and me Experts So Buzz if you need any pointers at Cadwell, don't be intimidated mate, I'm still aproachable. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 Fantastic - I knew one day I end up in my own CVH class Any chance of letting Mr Navin win one as well then Galloping Galtress and Mr Green etc etc etc Quote
Rob Navin Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 Mark. My car will have to run right for mike to let me win one. Unless I take a couple of plug leads off Mike's. Mmmm thats a plan... I have just droped the car off at another rolling road to get it sorted. I have found out that my poor driving was not the only factor in the weekend. The map was only giving me 40bhp at 4250 rpm and then jumped to something more sensible at 5500. Another spell with the car out of the garage and another hefty bill at the end now await me. Excuse mode off. Quote
MIKEASHTON Posted May 7, 2003 Posted May 7, 2003 Rob I see your lips are moving and nothings coming out again. Can the garage fix that too. Quote
