Dave Evans
My 1989 Westy SE narrow body needs a complete set of new black carpets. In an effort to keep the cost down I am prepared to have a go at this myself ,and at the same time fit new gear and handbrake gaitors and surrounds. My questions are How difficult a job would this be Where can I get the carpet and other items from Lastly does anyone have a set for sale Dave Probably should have put the last item in parts wanted !!! Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
Never tried it myself, but apparently not as difficult as you might expect if you use the more modern gel backed carpets and a hot air gun to help shape them. I mainly get my trim stuff from Martrim in Sandbach, they're convenient enough for me to call in, but they do mail order too. Martrim may have some patterns, I'm sure I remember a friend buying a carpet set from them, but I can't recall now if they just duplicated his old carpets or not. Woolies is another decent supplier that does mail order, I've had stuff from them at Stoneleigh.
Terry Everall
Why do you want carpet? I like the bare sipped out effect personally Doesnt get soggy & wet when it rains either Carpet just adds weight

Meakin
My floor Looked awful as previous carpet had been left to rot for 20+ years. So I Carpeted it standard gel backed car carpet is fine using spray adhesive. The secret is to take your time do a dry fitting and an assistant helps. we fitted one piece over the tunnel then pieces in each side. It Wasn't that hard to do hope that helps Paul
