Red Flash Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Evening Folks, Has anyone bought the 4 point lightweight harness from Playskool Motorsport. I've bought a pair in advance of my fiberglass bucket seats. Did a trial fitment at the weekend with my current seats. However was surprised by the position of the adjusters on the lap belts. The lap adjuster is extremely short and close to the fixing point, only 8.5" so the adjusts doesn't get past your hips and therefore difficult if not impossible to operate when wedged in the seat!!. Having said this they appear to be an excellent quality harness. Would appreciate your thoughts and comments. Thanks for reading Quote
SteveD Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 can you not move the adjuster you can on some harnesses Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Brum, why not ring them in the morning. Quote
Red Flash Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 Thanks for the replies. I can move the adjuster on the shoulder straps, unfortunately the adjuster is fixed on the lap/waist straps. Thought I would check with you folks before I made the call. Will give them a call tomorrow. Thanks Quote
Terry Everall Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Luke will sort it out for you I am sure Quote
alexander72 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 i have luke's harnesses from Playskool and they are much better than my Luke harnesses (harni) from Luke the manufacturer... wider and and easier to do up... Quote
bhouse Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 oops forgot the smiley face Indeed - but I'm on on the iPad which can't do smiley faces. Apart fom these :-) which are not really very good, are they? Quote
SootySport Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I had this problem with my Playskool harness and JK seats. Solution is to add a metal strap between the chassis harness hole and the Harness fixing. Some carefull measurement required so the adjuster just fits inside the side slot of the seat. Quote
alexander72 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 good advice Sooty.... I have padded seast from westfield made of finest plywood and PVc but would love some posh seats Quote
User0083 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Are these the wide strap twist buckle harnesses for just over £100? I keep thinking about getting them, but told they rub on your neck and would be no good for long journeys. Still have page on short cuts because I'm close to buying them!!! Overall people seem happy with them. I have sport turbo seats, so hope they'll fit. Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Brian, leave the hyphen out so a colon ":" followed by a closing round bracket ")" will give you a Quote
jim_l Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 If it is any consolation the Sabelt, at £180 , is awkward to do up once in the bucket seats, they tighten away from the centre buckle but there is little space. Is adding a metal strap OK from and MOT/Scrutineering point of view? Quote
