Buzz Billsberry Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Was anyone at the Prescott Revival yesterday?? I was down there with Barry Ashcroft what a great event and a pleasant way to chill out and pass a Sunday. There was a couple of Westys there was a dark blue one and yellow one I was surprised there wasn't more to be honest. I tried to find the drivers a couple of time but had no luck I went down in the Tamora and stopped over at Barry’s in Weston Super Mare. There was some great cars there was everything from old MG's to GT40's, a well quick Bedford van with a turbo'd 2.0 XE red top to a chopped zephyr, Nissan GTR, T70,loads of mini’s Porsches, Marcos, mercs, VW’s,Astons, capri’s R8 V8 there was even an old Bentley that went up the hill. I had a ride up the hill in Barry’s Black SLK55 AMG my mate Kens beetle sorry Porsche Boxster. Then I finished off in a Porsche 911 GT3RS man that think has got some traction what a ride. The range of cars there was brilliant. It wasn't a competitive day but you could go up the hill for £15 if you would do passenger rides it was free the passenger paid £15 and the money went to charity. Its the first time I've been to the circuit it has a great viewing area about half way up you can see most of the track including the bowl. well impressed and 10 out of 10 for the Marcos owners club who organised the event Buzz Quote
M444TTB Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Definitely one for next years calendar. I love Prescott an used to really enjoy the Peugeot Sport Club events there. Quote
Paulm3 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Yes was there in little blue 82 westfield, had about 5 runs up the hill, great day and sun was out which was nice. few pics and vids on the other thread 'Swindon blat on sunday' Quote
pistonbroke Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 **** ! I went to Prescott Merseyside saw lots of cars, not much of a hill there though at least it was for free Quote
woodman Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Similar event next Sunday at Prescott. organised by 'Retro Rides' ( they have website) Should be lots of Hot rods, custom cars, Fast cars etc Quote
tightscot Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I was there, racing green Wastie. I never caught up with other owners either. It was a great day though and Prescott is just a great place to be. Retro Rides (http://www.retroridesgathering.com/) is the next event there (privately organised, not run by the BOC, like the Revival), the next big weekend is their American Classic event on 5/6 Oct, that's always a great weekend but no opportunities to run the hill as its a competitive event as well. The Cotswold boys are at the Tewkesbury Classic Show on the 18th, http://www.tewkesburycvf.org/ Maybe see some others there? Quote

XTR2Turbo Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I popped into retro rides last year and found the crowd / cars a bit more max power and chavy to be honest. Quote

Barry Ashcroft Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 What was even better with the GT3RS was that the car was owned not by the driver but by his dad who was watching his car getting ragged all day what a top bloke. Quote
