John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 Got mine too. All as I need now is my car finished JL Quote
fordy Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 Is this brighton one anygood - im assuming its the brighton thats on the south coast - if so i may enter this one, not to far for me. Looks like its just a couple of straight roads and roundabouts - is this Ok or boring? Quote
Jan Coombes Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 Got mine too has anyone been before? What is it like I went to the speed trials last year and that was packed, with spectators. Just thinking what the totty would be like on a nice sunny day. Quote
peterg Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 it's not that Brighton (sadly, 'cos I live not 20 miles away) it's near Birkinhead in the Wirral Quote
fordy Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 Near bl**** liverpool - dam and blast I wish more of the SS tracks were down my way. poo Quote
peterg Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 I know what you mean Fordy - my nearest event (Gurston Down near Salisbury) is a 200 mile round trip....the longest is nearly 600 miles to Werrington Park outside Launceston in Cornwall I reckon I'll clock up at least 4000 miles towing the racecar to and from meetings this year (averaging 20mpg from my petrol Passat ) Nearest track is Goodwood but there's only a couple of sprints there (and I prefer the hills anyway ) and after that is Lydden (which is built on a hill ) which is just as far away as Gurston Quote
scott beeland Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 Not doing this one (leaves room for someone else )As I'm in Croatia. Doin' plenty of others though Looks like Jan won't be doing it either coz he can't read a *****' map....NEW brighton............. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 and I won't be doin' it either ................. cos I know exactly where it is I hope Tom's toolbox will be chained down and padlocked this year Yep tracks down sarf do seem in short supply compared to the rest of the country Quote
VeeEight Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 I want to go. BUT it's my brother in laws party on that night. Can I make it back to Warwick by 6.00 pm?? Phil Quote
S8ight Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 couple of straight roads and roundabouts ? its a great little bit of road. we live a few minutes away from it. spent most of my youth down there after i passed my test. brings back memories of saturday nights, renault 5's coming out of roundabouts on two wheels, mk 1 escorts sliding wildly and ending up halfway across the dips, muppets on bikes getting scared by the roundabouts and going straight over them, people proving that they cant drive as well as they think they can and best of all watching someone wheelie the length of the straight thems was the days (I wasnt down there on sunday morning sliding my WR Quattro round by the way ) Quote
S8ight Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 forgot to say, smashed my femur in when i jumped out of the back of a mini scamp while plod was following us Quote
