John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison
I would say vibration hence why I asked the difference in your setup to others. Solid mounting seems extreem to me

RobC
You insensitive beast will look at it later on today. by doing this though do I need to do anything else to the chassis or similar to add extra strength/bracing?

Paul Morcom
Hi Rob, I had some Vibra-Technics engine mounts maded for my car; they are a slight compromise between solid and rubber mounts. I can't remember the name of the guy that made them but they were specially developed for a Westfield. They were made to my specification (height) and work very well - they don't eliminate all the engine movement, but most of it, and also reduce the engine vibration through to chassis. I was recommended that if I went for solid/stiffer engine mounts then the gearbox mount also need to be uprated. In my case I already had a VW Polo engine mount on my Elite Gearbox and in discussion with the guy from Vibra-Technics he confirmed that the VW Polo mount was already heavy duty/stiff for a gearbox mount and so would be compatible with the new Vidra-Technics engine mounts.
