scott beeland Posted April 1, 2003 Posted April 1, 2003 Going on Sunday am. 'bout 7 ish so Mr Chairman tells me. My competition looks...... Terrifying BTW. Do I get to walk the course b4 driving it? I'd like to know my way round before throwing myself round it. Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted April 1, 2003 Posted April 1, 2003 Scott, Stop worrying. Practice starts at 9 and before then you can walk the course. The course map is in the entry regs. You may need this as the marshals tend not to put the correct cones / tyres up til the last minute to make the route obvious. Its not on purpose to fool you. They just seem not to be too organised. Sign on at one of the portacabins not forgetting to take your licence. Next, scrutineering is best to be done as soon as you can. You need to go onto the track for a short section to get to the scrutineering bay. Dont forget to take your helmet and overalls with you when you go as you will have to go back again if you forget them. Walk the course after this little lot but before 9. JL Quote

Its not such a good idea to 'nail' the Bank of Robinson. You could find yourself with budgetary insolvancy problems i.e a cash short fall in your projected income for the coming year Plus he owns the car Re-think needed C U Sunday Buzz Quote
Mark Stanton Posted April 1, 2003 Posted April 1, 2003 And not forgettin for any Speed Series Virgins - Get your helmet ready At your very first scruting take a one pound coin and tell the scruter its your very first event and can you have an MSA Approved Helmet sticker (the cost being £1.00, unless its gone up ) Quote

Guest Posted April 3, 2003 Posted April 3, 2003 Looking forward to getting out of bed at 50 (that's am) on Sunday morning. Eager to see how the new engine runs on the first event - hope it passes the smoke test - as the ex-Post Office van perkins deisel has now done about 100k miles. Should be competititititititive though? Quote
MartinW Posted April 3, 2003 Posted April 3, 2003 .... Practice starts at 9 ........... Unless things have changed which I doubt, I think practice can only start at 10 am because of local restrictions. Much more importantly you all should know that: The M6 will be be closed overnight in both directions between Junction 23 and Junction 24 from 10 30 pm on Saturday 5th April until 8 am on Sunday 6th April. Also the Southbound on-slip at Junction 25 and the Northbound on-slip at Junction 23 will be closed at the same time. I 'think' this is more relevant to people approaching from the North, but I may be wrong, as I never go to 3 Sisters from the South. If anybody wishes I will attempt to post the relevant map from the local newspaper, where I stumbled across this by accident today. In fact I'll work on that side of things while you're all digesting this. Quote
Mike H Posted April 4, 2003 Posted April 4, 2003 Yep, it's an A***. roadworks on that stretch for 20 weeks and they haven't even finished the Thelwall viaduct yet. Watch out for 40 mph SPECS cameras on the viaduct. To get to 3 sisters before 8am on Sunday: from the South - come off at jn 23 and go up past Haydock race course, through Ashton on the A49. from the North - probably not much different as you can't get off as there's no exit at all at jn 25. Unless jn 24 is open for getting off Southbound you need to come off at 26 and go through the edge of Wigan then down the A49. Although I'm not a competitor I may turn up to spectate as it's up my way. good luck everyone Mike Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted April 4, 2003 Posted April 4, 2003 Hope the weather holds, I can't be there to spectate never mind compete.... as yet another hold up on installing my engine... hopfully I'll have it in this weekend and up and running. The garage still looks like a clutser bomb hit it!....I'll garantee one thing tho'... once the engine is in and I press the starter button; the rain clouds will gather over head and stop there until September Have a good weekend all REMEMBER If any one sees Kylie and liberates her don't for get there is a bounty reward. (Keep an eye on the Robinson mobile tent! Buzz Quote
