Colin Chapmans first hill climb car. Lotus MK1? as in ACBC (Anthony, Colin, Bruce Chapman)

its a JABS (John Anthony Benson Special) i think it was JABS II  :yes:   competed by my father in the 70's / 80's  :d

Maybe JABS II?

Also known as a "John Anthony Benson Special".

I competed in sporting trials for a while as a passenger and it was great fun.  Open diff and fiddle brakes on the rear wheels and it was amazing what they would do and the slopes they could climb.

               

I sold my Caterham to buy a sporting trials car but in the interim we moved to West Wales. 

 

Guess what? They don’t do sporting trials in Wales and I couldn’t get much further away from where they hold the events.  The nearest event to me is in Gloucestershire – a 3 hour drive away and I didn’t fancy all that trailering to the SW and SE for all the other events.

 

Which, of course, is why I now have a Westfield. :t-up:  :t-up:
