Westfield Competition fuel tank

I don't suppose anyone has a Westfield competition fuel tank surplus to requirements? I need one in good condition (or, better, unused) complete with mounting frame, ie ready to bolt in and connect up to my filter and pump.

I'm told they mount centrally, above the diff., on a frame. I'm enquiring with the factory, but so far they have the tank, but haven't located the frame, and one without the other isn't a great deal of use.

What size are you looking for ? I may have something for you

Paul Aspen had one for sale. I was going to take it but wouldn't fit my car due the rear anti roll bar being in the way

Thanks, guys, I await further details. :t-up:

Marto, I think the Westfield competition tank is about 20 litres. It is fitted to the Aerorace cars, so needs sufficient capacity for circuit racing.

Rob, is your rear antirollbar a factory one? If so, it likely wont fit my car either. That's why I would really rather have a factory one so I know it will fit. Then again, if it has come off a Westfield, IRS and factory ARB then I'd be more confident it will fit.

Doesn't have to be 20 litres, a lot of the sprint cars have 10 litre tanks, but it does limit you if you want to do an occasional trackday.

Any offers? How much?

Not too keen on buying on ebay, unseen. I'm "stuffed" if it doesn't fit.

Some sprint cars have a 5 litre tank ;)

Yes, but on longer tracks and if you get a red flag re-run that might not be enough for a car with a proper engine! :d

I'm not indecisive, I just have difficulty making up my mind!!

I'm now tending towards having a small, say 10 litres, main tank, and a proper swirlpot, so I'm going to need those along with a separate low pressure pump to feed from the tank to the swirlpot. Also, various lengths of fuel hose. anything else I need to think about?

What low pressure fuel pump?

What size of hose (5/16"?)?

Presumably the fuel guage sender wont work on a small race tank?

If you fit a tall round fuel tank like a dry sump tank you wont need the weight and hassle of lift pumps and swirl pots.

Just need to decide on size.  Even 10 litres should give you enough for track days
