mikef Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Another brilliant trip to the Isle of Man – the first time we’ve been without any rain. I went with 5 biker friends. We went to watch the Southern Hundred racing which was awesome but sadly 2 riders and a sidecar passenger lost their lives. They were all local lads and my condolences to their families. That was the first time that I’ve ever been to watch motorcycle road racing and it was really impressive and the riders have my utmost admiration. I managed to get on and off the ferry this time without grounding. After the last time when I had real trouble, I raised the suspension by about 3 cms and this time got on with no problems. Mind you, it was a flat calm and the tide meant there were no particularly sharp angles but it was certainly a relief. As always, driving the mountain was great fun as well as other parts of the circuit that are not speed limited. I can't get over how bumpy some of the circuit is when one considers the speed the bikes go on the TT. Some of the bikers also had their first Westfield experience and couldn't get over how well they hold the road on the twisty bits Quote
Marshall_iom Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Should have posted up before you came over, I was out an about in the Westfield during the week too. And yeah, sad week at the S100 this year with three dead in total. Unfortunately a good family friend was involved in the sidecar accident, said if his passenger hadn't looked behind and spotted the chair behind has lost his passenger then the driver probably would have lost his life at the next corner too....
