Got a puncture on the way home from the coast today :-/

Is it a BMW job or can I get run flats fitted anywhere?

Any tips on pricing

Dealer will be expensive

You can get them at most tyre places, they love fitting them with the massive wall thickness.

Guessing the tyre size but have a look here.  Not much change from £200 tho.

Anywhere does them there is nothing special but they are damn expensive. If they are similar in size to the z wheels then expect 250+

How worn are all the other tyres? It makes a huge difference to the ride in a z4 when you ditch the run flats for normal tyres

I had a 123D for 24 hours and got a screw through a rear RF tyre and the dealership charged me £222. I have since found that BMW sent a technical bulletin that confirms, in certain circumstances, these can actually be repaired. Good job I asked for the punctured one back as it had the full 8mm tread on it....

well BMW started at 380 inc vat and came down to 342 when pushed on price

same tyre from formula 1 is 261 inc vat

Stay away from the stealers, rip off merchants. When u hav your new tyre fitted, remember to reset the tyre pressure monitoring system, you'll have to google for the instructions coz i've forgot how to.

Cars electronic hand book tells you how, it's easy enough.

Be careful changing to normal tyres it can void your insurance! The vehicle I meant to have run flats it should stay I them really or check with your insurance first!

You can repair run flats there is nothing as far as I'm aware to say you can't, think it more a case of they don't advise it due to the function required by the tyre! That and probably getting money out of you at £380

yeah you proabably should but as far as im aware its made no difference to anyone i know that has done it so long as you use the correct rated tyre for the car.

My previous ins company told me I couldn't on my F11 5 series. (But then they were awkward b*******s about many things, so it was no great surprise.)

When I asked, I asked if I could change to an exactly equivalent spec rating/size etc, same hubs, just tyres changed, was considering summer and winter tyres.Initially was told it would be possible, but at a premium - just like I'd put bigger, or fancier wheels on. When I asked how much, they got back to me very quickly, and most apologetically to tell me that actually, I couldn't change to regular tyres and get cover from them and that winter tyres would only be covered (at a premium) if they were BMW supplied hubs and BMW spec'd winter tyres for that model.

gawp - other side tyre is close to legal limit and the n/s front has a bobble

As an aside, if you read the data there is no reason that run flats cannot be repaired, so long as you have not exceeded the mileage and speed.

Had one go down overnight on my daughters mini, not been fun flat but had a small nail in the centre of an almost new tyre. It was the devils job to get it repaired as there seems to be a gentlemans agreement not to do them, just incase.

Got it done and it was fine for £7.50 as opposed to £280
