M444TTB Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Excellent! I never really knew much about Hunt (or Lauda for that matter) until I read a biography that was given away in an issue of Autosport about 15 years ago. Quote
User0083 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Pre my time, but respect them massively and "Rush" looks outstanding. The balls needed in their day. I watched a thing about sterling moss, When Hammond met Moss, and he had the steering wheel with the head shaped buckle in it! Interest Mrs C and I due to my head injuries being very similar and at a similar time to Hammond and what they discussed was what I went through. Lauda's accident on Nurburgring, where he lost his ears, was where I had my accident. Guy in front did similar to Lauder and wiped me out in the process. I'm still amazed when old clips of formula one are played from 60's, love the 70's... But 90's was my spectating start. Quote
Rory's Dad Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Interviewer "Well James, how did you win that race?" Hunt "Big balls!" Says it all really... Rory's Dad Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Damn, supposed to have added it to my Sky planner from the laptop earlier this week, just realised it never got it. Time to look for repeats. (IPlayer as a last resort) Quote

Buzz Billsberry Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Great documentary all-in-all I was never a fan of Hunt and the programme re-confirmed that. I've always said he was lucky to win that championship but deserved because of the italians out right ability to cheat at any cost fortunately thats not a feature of their or should I say ferrari much these days they are all as bad as each other. Still a good doco Buzz Quote
pistonbroke Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I was a rock solid Nicky Lauda fan after his comeback from that horrific acko , always gave the impression he was hard as nails but in reality he was terrified every time he climbed aboard the car . Read his bio , great book , my favourite bit when he left Ferrari he was waiting permission to take off from Milan airport , several attempts made to contact flight control but all he got was dead silence , then after a very long time he heard in his headset ............... You Left Ferrari you Barstewterd ! Quote
blue ass fly Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I recorded it and it cut off before the end , just as hunt came third to win the season Poxy technology , wouldnt have happened with a vhs Quote
