Rhett Turner - Black Country AO Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 why do you need a letter from Westfield re the Speedo? I thought the speedo was tested on rollers The latest Westfield kits have a front wheel mounted speed sensor, most IVA centres don't have a driven rolling road they rely on the vehicle to turn it, which requires that the sensor is on a driven wheel. I had that shock when I had my test and contacted Westfield from the centre who sent a fax that explained the situation and how to verify the correct settings. I then had to bring up my speedo setting and they checked the setting displayed and the tyre size to confirm all was as it should be. Quote
darve Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 ah I see. mine picks up magnets on the drive shaft so I should be fine thanks Quote
Hoon68 Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 I was lucky with mine with an intermittent speed sensor which I was able to fix during the day. I was given time to fix that and I didn't have any other real issues. Sorry to hear you didn't pass straight away but Sounds like you have it under control, bear in mind you only get retested on the items which failed so your next visit should be a shorter less eventful day. Good luck for your next visit. Quote
