Norman Verona Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 John, that'll be a good idea. I can add them to the attractions page (which needs updating as it's 7 years old). Paris is definitely on, We know Paris as well as London, well the good bits. There used to be an observation tower on top of the Montparnasse building. From there you could see the architectural design by Housman (who designed the centre of Paris). It's really beautiful. Unfortunately the viewing floor is now a restaurant - with prices that make you cry! However, the best place is to sit at a table outside one of the restaurants in the square behind the Sacre Coeur at Montmarte. We've spent many a night, until daybreak, drinking a coffee and watching the artists at work. The view from the front of Sacre Coeur is pretty good as well but your facing the wrong way to see Housmans majestic facades, Sacre Coeur is on a hill and there are very long steps and a vernicular railway to get you to the top. I never told HM about the railway as I liked walking up the steps. When she found out she was very grumpy - for 5 minutes. Quote
