Just bought a Type R. Go onto gocompare to insure it. Accept lowest quote and complete proposal which asks for any accidents in last 3 years.

On my way from Sheffield to Dover via a detour to Amersham I get several calls from them which I don't answer as I'm driving.

As I wait for the ferry at Dover I get another call. They start going through the whole proposal with me but I have to stop it as the ferry is loading.

We get home last night and I start clearing my emails. I have seven emails from Bewiser. OK, no problem except the last one which in diplomatic language is accusing me of fraud as I haven't listed accidents in the last 9 years.

I promptly responding pointing out the proposal asks for last 3 years, I don't want to be bombarded with telephone calls and emails and I object strongly being accused of fraud. I cancelled the insurance under the Distant Selling Rules.

Bet I have to fight to get the first payment back.

Went to the AXA agent in town and insured in 5 minutes. Saved me having to think of an excuse to cancel.

Amersham! You were fifteen minutes from m.o.t.c.o. Towers!

Moan away - and rightly so. Gone are the days when any degree of integrity exists with insurance providers, money grabbing shower of b***ds. Scheduled airlines have gone the same way.

It's a sad day when fairness and integrity hold no value.

James, no I missed his. Wasn't thinking of changing a few weeks ago. It was the drive back to Sheffield that got me thinking. It went like this.

Why am I driving this huge lump of jelly? Oh, yes I remember, we were moving back to the UK and I bought it as I would have to keep coming back regularly to cut grass, make sure everything was OK. I reckoned it would take 3 to 5 years to sell without a huge loss. Then she changed her mind.

I'll tell the full story tomorrow.
