I didn't attend any English lessons in the last 2 years of my schooling as I was in the metal work shop making an engine. At least I made one teacher happy. I left at 15. Having failed the 11 plus the school I was in was happy if you could read and write by the time you left. grammer was taught at the Grammer school.
