Captain Colonial Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 In an effort to generate some popcorn sales for Gadgetman, here's a subject that usually prompts a response. Try your hand at this Grammar Quiz and see how you score. Clicky 8/10 - I'll take it Quote
Norman Verona Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 The newsreader on BBC News this morning went off to do this quiz. She said she should get 100%. After the next article she was very contrite, she'd got one question wrong. Quote
SootySport Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Just 2 for me and they were guesses, I didn't understand the questions mostly. Quote
Norman Verona Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I'm useless at grammer. I didn't attend any English lessons in the last 2 years of my schooling as I was in the metal work shop making an engine. At least I made one teacher happy. I left at 15. I think we need to ask guest the answer to number 7. Oh, I got 6/10 Quote
Paul Gibney - Lancashire AO Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 4/10 shocking but i'll take that...... Quote
Young Pretender Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I've given up on question 7 because I now feel very stupid Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I struggled to understand the questions.... None of them were written in capitals Quote

Norman Verona Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 meakin, I thought the sitting one sounded wrong. HM said the same. She got 4/10. Quote
Geoff101 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 9/10 but I was lucky as the Churchill question was a guess and I wasn't sure about the last one! Quote
jeff oakley Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 This all depends on how you were taught, I got 6 out of ten but a couple were guesses. Having failed the 11 plus the school I was in was happy if you could read and write by the time you left. grammer was taught at the Grammer school. Some of those who went to Grammer school could understand all the terms but were as thick as two planks in every other way. Quote
Mooch Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 9/10. The last one was a lucky guess, though. Clearly, I was learned proper at school. Quote
mikef Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 8/10 but I had to guess the "Churchill" question - so a bit lucky there Quote
