jacko9370 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Has anyone got any silicon hose in either 8,16,25 or 36mm they are wanting to sell? Got to plumb the engine from scratch so any assortments of 45,90 and straights would be good
User0083 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Doing the same. But using http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330684559483?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648 For fuel/oil (but realised later on that they are not for continual submersion in fuel???) And http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330651268754?var=540049646444&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648 For everything else. I spoke to seller, he's happy for a list of what I need and he'll supply the list. I know it's not me selling bits and it's not connected to me in any way. But if you can't find what you need it may be a plan b
jacko9370 Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 I did look at their store. With not knowing exactly what want didn't know how well would work just asking for random parts etc
User0083 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 It's a good start. Before my car get wounded and is currently in Westy intensive care over at the WF I was going to do mine by removing them all, measuring and getting a list. But can't now. Trying to get the list from WF of what's required. But they've been busy at Stoneliegh. So maybe soon I'll publish the Zetec SeiW silicone hose requirements.
M444TTB Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I take it you both have the standard nose rather than ducted? Although I have the latter I'll be putting it back together as the former! Unfortunately I'll be using a Dunnell water rail and no heater so it will all be different
jacko9370 Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 I've got standard nose. Changing from pinto to duratec means starting from scratch for plumbing. Have no heater so the WF kit is no use.
Steve_Farrimond Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 My best advise would be to make the system up from standard hose, would be really cheap. Then when your happy you could change it to silicon. Best place that I've found for price is: http://www.jjcraceandrally.com/
Sparkymart Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I've just got some from auto silicone hoses ASH, there is a 15%discount code in the traders section
User0083 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 ASH hoses were the ones I saw on eBay, I'll contact them through here when I'm ready to order. Cheers Mart!
darve Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 I used ASH (direct from website) and did my whole custom install with there hoses. Seem good but not really tested yet as build not finished! Just make a drawing of what you need with measurements on and make your list from there
barry peel Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Looking at the hoses for Fuel, it states not for continuous immersion in Fuel !! Does that mean not for fuel line say filter to carbs
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 It typically means not for fuel lines, but double check. (You often see it ho the hoses that connect say the filler cap and the tank)
Steve_Farrimond Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Looking at the hoses for Fuel, it states not for continuous immersion in Fuel !! Does that mean not for fuel line say filter to carbs correct
User0083 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 correct I missed that bit! Hmm... Looks like I'm back to the drawing board!
jonjh1964 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Black top Zetec hoses: 16mm - heater, link and blank (1 needed encouragement), 8mm expansion tank link, 32mm hockey stick to engine and radiator and a 35mm to 32mm 90 deg bend (with 150mm either side of the bend) to the water pump and lower radiator pipe - total cost ~£45. I didn't replace the lower "kinked" 32mm radiator hose as WF supplied a silicone hose and it wasn't too visible. http://2js-westfield-build.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/25-july-2012-silicone-coolant-hoses.html If this helps - all bought from ASH and if you contact them direct you might be able to get a 15% discount
