shaun Posted December 1, 2002 Posted December 1, 2002 "The Elise may be more practical but it gives you the feeling of driving a "proper" car badly built. The Westfield is poorly constructed against the c******m and depreciates far faster than the Seven and drives like a bacon sandwich in comparison." Taken from here Quote
damianc Posted December 2, 2002 Posted December 2, 2002 Strangely enough, the last time I drove a bacon sandwich it reminded me of my car. Quote
stu999 Posted December 2, 2002 Posted December 2, 2002 Hmmmm. When i first read this I thought the 'Journo' in question had a really biased opinion. But the bacon sandwich thing says it all....... A bacon sandwich is only as good as the ingredients and the way its put together. We all have different opinions to how bacon sandwiches should be made. There is nothing like a bacon sandwich on a Sunday morning. If you have never tried a bacon sarnie, when you do, you will want one for yuorself...... Quite a lot of parallels to owning a Westy really Quote
ChrisG Posted December 2, 2002 Posted December 2, 2002 It's not even a journalist that's written it, as far as I can see, its a kind of consumer rating/opinion type website where joe public can write a review on a product and post it up for others to comment on. The writer says he has got a 1.8 VVC c******m, so he's bound to be sensitive to suggestions that Westfields might be better VFM etc, hence the comments. Quote
shaun Posted December 2, 2002 Author Posted December 2, 2002 But don't bacon sarnies come from catering vans????? Quote
steppenwolf Posted December 2, 2002 Posted December 2, 2002 In view of all the nonsense that is written here and elsewhere about the differences between the Cateringvan and the Westfield, I have decided to write the difinitive history and FAQ on the various marques for publication on the Internet. To that end, I have started my research already and have concluded the following thus far:- 1. The Cateringvan is a poor copy of the Robin Hood 2. The Birkin is in fact a Lotus Seven with a respray 3. The Tiger is actually a DAX Rush with a different bonnet and rear arches 4. The DAX Rush is actually a Tiger with a different bonnet and rear arches 5. The Robin Hood is a Ford Sierra in disguise 6. The Westfield is the only currently available sevenesque type of car worth considering 7. Every kit car owner is perfectly capable of writing utter b*****k* How am I doing so far? Quote

Is that with or without grape poupon? Still or sparkling perrier? This isn't the new mini owners club site, it's the wscc one and here we like our bacon on sliced white bread with brown sauce, and not just any brown sauce. Oh no. Quote
