pistonbroke Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 We need to see photographic evidence of your escapades Quote
cidersurfer Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Have they finished all the tunnels yet? Quote
alexander72 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 can i bring my car? and is there a bridge or do we need a ferry? Quote
alexander72 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 apologies - of course there is no bridge - i am an imbecile with very poor geographical awareness. Quote
Terry Everall Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Have you done the run down into Funchal instead of using the wood sleds Quote
acafrao Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 I will post some photographic vidence as soon as car us back up and running The tunnels are all pretty much finished taking you now 15 mins from Funchal to places it sed to take 4 hours. Lol Alexander it wuld be lovelky if you could bring your car so we could do some blats, but the ferry that coonected Madeira to Alfarved stopped working two years ago :/ so now only way to entry of leave the island is by plane or cruise ship. Bahhhh Lol terry the woid sleds are a very popular atteaction and filled with adrenaline, but i get as much adrenaline driving the westy down here. Lol Suprisingly or not driving it on the mountains is amazing, since rds are most cleared and shine with blue skies and great views Quote
Stuart Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 We have been to Madeira 4 or 5 times now. Always rent a car so we can see the island as much as possible - it's an amazing place. Last year found a hill that was just too steep for the Citroen C1 it would not go any further up it. A bit hairy trying to turn it around I tell you. Quote
acafrao Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 Lol stuart that's typically Madeira.. Quote
Captain Colonial Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Been to Madeira three times, beautiful place and lovely people. The New Year's Eve fireworks are the best in the world, like being in downtown Baghdad during the Gulf War, about 15 minutes of aerial warfare. Quote
acafrao Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 True that Scott, I think it is a once in a lifetime experience.. For me in my humble opinion best time to come here. Also end of july beginning of August is quite nice with a very warm climate you can do some ocean dipping, partying at night and the very famous IRC Madeira Wine Rally ( Rally vinho madeira) which is great. Glad everyone seems to enjoy Madeira. Next time give me a bell! Quote
