Think I may buy a copy tomorrow. Or just read it in the shop :)

Think I need to get myself to the shops, very interested in these as I do like the engineering in these engines. I'd like to see what they are like on track as I've only seen pictures or seen them at shows.

On the Vtec mapping thing, a mate of mine had a civic with aftermarket ECU (Can't for the life of me remember the name!), exhaust, filter, RBC manifold and bigger throttle body, all that got him 250bhp on TDi North's rollers. But he had the vtec mapped so it came in at 4krpm and would only kick in beyond half throttle, at 6krpm it would kick in as normal. They would map it in any way you pretty much wanted though.

My tuner specialises in Honda engines and builds them for a few racers. Was showing me maps the other day about how he could get the vtec a really smooth curve or kick you in the ass if you wanted. Though the latter wouldn't be much good for us. He likes to use gems ecu's which ain't cheap. Took me for a ride in his 450hp civic a few months back which was just nuts.

It's great to see the factory doing something like this for the UK based market and I personally like the engine choice. After saying that there is still something I prefer about this Westfield over the current factory offering:

Not sure if it's just the looks.

'Donkey Dave' used to be a regular on the forum and some will know him as The Race Car Doctor. Genuine ''nice' person who made an exceptional Westfield for a very decent price. Car was awesome to watch in action.

Is it not torque that destroys diffs

Just for the sake of clarity, that's Donkey Daves home built conversion not the Mega S2000 you're talking about. I've seen Daves car - absolutely cracking job it was too!

I think the Factory should bring the S2000 to Blyton to give the car maximum exposure.  I'm not that qualified to say but it really seemed to be a terrific package.  I think Nick should sort something out.

Given the performance (which I would describe as fierce) I'm not surprised Westfield's insurance doesn't cover them letting any Tom, Dick or Harry drive the demonstrator off into the distance.  The car has a huge amount of embedded costs.

...I think I'm gonna have a word with the factory and go and have some quality time with the demonstrator. :d

A great read and its good to see the continued development of the enthusiast and kit car side of the business.

Plus it was nice surprise to spot my car in the factory picture, it was there having something checked and to act as a mule for a couple of things the factory want to check out on a different car.
