gavinnn Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Whilst scanning Facebook and being generally nosey about other people's lives I ended up stumbling across this video. I am usually one of these people that hate spam and stupid videos wanting attention/money especially charity muggers that stand in shop doorways. However, this video is quite an eye opener to what goes off in other countries and makes me feel sick and angry amongst other things. If the staff feel it is a bit too graphic then I understand, I have tried to warn people in the title but I wouldn't upload this on a work computer. Click - but warning again, this is very upsetting footage of animal cruelty, goes to YouTube video (Edited to remove embedded video from post, replaced with link to the video at YouTube - watch at your own risk - The Moderation Team) Quote

pistonbroke Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Afraid I couldnt watch , just to horrific , no animal deserves that treatment and for what ? The Chinese nation should hang its head IN SHAME at this , they must know what goes on in there own country yet seem to have no emotion at all towards dumb animals , its about time they joined the 21st century Completely Disgusted Quote
chris7273 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I clicked and saw the poor dog in the cage and the chinese woman taking him out of it... I stopped watching because I am pretty sure of what's coming after... but I fear that what happens is even more awful than what I imagine. People from Asia and far east don't consider animals the same way as most European people do. Different culture, different priorities... A lot of "teaching" is necessary to introduce "animal respect" in these countries... For example, the visit of a market in Thailand can be a really bad experience. That said, we shouldn't make a generality for China : I was in a rural area of Yunnan 15 years ago and lived there as the farmers used to and I had plenty of time to share things with them, I never saw someone being brutal with an animal and dogs were dogs as we imagine them. Norman Verona Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Recently someone pointed out that the French don't have the same feeling for animals as the English. However he was talking about wives. Being serious though, the French generally see animals as something to eat or something to work. They don't have pets in the same way we do. My Flemish friends have two dogs a few cats a donkey and some sheep which are treated as the English would treat pets and they don't understand the French attitude to animals. Most of the English have dogs and cats but I can't think of any French person with pets other than working dogs. Quote
housebeautician Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 They dont give a **** about humans let alone animals Quote
Moff88 Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 The electrocution of the first dog seemed reasonable (similar to an abbattoir) but the rest was ridiculously unnecessary. I think PETA's problem is that they whinge on about insects being cruelly treated and think we should be vegetarians so people switch off and don't pay attention when they are highlighting matters such as this.
