  1. Here for sale is my 2000 (W) Westfield Megabusa. I originally looked at moving the car on around this time last year but decided to keep it and fit a full windscreen instead. This was carried out through the guys down at the new Westfield factory (using all new parts at not insignificant expense), but I’ve found that I’m still not using the car as much as I’d like. I’ve just got to the point where I have to admit that the way I use a second car has now changed, and although I've loved it (a Megabusa was always the one for me!) and it's a lovely car, it just doesn't fit my lifestyle at the moment. The car has an interesting story as it was the press demonstrator for the factory during the year 2000, appearing on the “2 Wheels Better” program on Men and Motors, which included an interview with Chris Smith about the bike-engined revolution while he was sitting in the driver’s seat. This can still be seen on YouTube at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_DaCqTgiPM&list=PLW4hczp_CZb4DI1EE5zRzFqEvDmBtbpmq&index=1 Around the same time it also appeared in Car magazine’s Performance Car of the Year test against a Caterham R500 and Lotus 340R. It can also be seen in various Kit Car magazines from back in the day, as well as the "Westfield Story" book, copies of which I have collected over the last few years and will be sold on with the car. As you can imagine from its press car status, it was very highly spec’d from the factory, with the specification briefly comprising: Image 13” 2-piece light alloy wheels. Westfield Dry Sump System. Westfield Reverse Gearbox. Quick Release Steering Wheel. Carbon Fibre Nose Cone. Carbon Fibre Cycle Wings. Carbon Fibre Dashboard. Carbon Fibre Centre Console. Carbon Fibre Tunnel Top. Carbon Effect Stoneguards. Willans 4-Point Harnesses. Nitron Shockers. Front and Rear Anti-roll Bars. After it’s time with Westfield, the car was bought by a collector and stayed with him for 18 years or so, having very little use within that period. It was then put up for auction and bought by Castle Cars in Cornwall who had been tasked by one of their customers to source the very best example of a bike-engined Westfield that they could get their hands on. They then went through the car, recommissioning it, before their customer found that at 6’ 4” and 18-19 stone, they couldn’t fit in it! It was at that point in 2019 that I bought it, travelling down to Cornwall from Merseyside with a trailer to pick it up one Saturday. It’s my 3rd bike-engined Westfield having built a Megablade during 2000 and subsequently keeping it for 11 years, before then building a Megabird after that. When built, the car was fitted with a brand new Hayabusa engine from a donor bike (as was Westfield’s way at the time) and has covered very little mileage since (less than 2,000), which is reflected in its condition, with only minor wear and tear to the bodywork and interior despite being almost 25 years old. The car has recently been serviced, with new oil and filter, spark plugs and a set of coils. Last year the shockers were serviced and dyno-tested by Nitron down at the factory, and the adjusters on the rear shockers were renewed. I have all invoices and details of all the maintenance carried out while in my possession, including the invoices from Westfield for the windscreen upgrade. We've had some adventures, and it will be missed, but time for somebody else to enjoy it now. £12,950 ono. I’ve added some walk around videos on YouTube, which can be found here: Please call or WhatsApp on 07394 113927, or message through here. I also have some spares such as an RAC Rollbar, new rear stoneguards (still in the package, never fitted), the original carbon fibre Westfield aeroscreen and mirrors, and a replacement sump panel for the dry sump system (picked up as it was the last one "old" Westfield had in stock, and I bought it just in case). These can be had through separate negotiation.

    Snetterton 23rd August 2017

Is anyone thinking of going to Snetterton on the 23rd August 2017 as there is a trackday with Javelin and should be able to get the WSCC discount, see below; http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackdays/index.php?route=product/product&path=75&product_id=436 It is probably a little early at the moment as only one other person attending but thought I would try to raise some interest......I'm booking today!
  4. Deposit taken After 15 years of ownership I have decided the time has come to try something different . So I would like to sell my car. It is fully road legal so would be great for either fast road use , trackdays or competition, its not really a show and shine tho. Spec Westfield Narrow Sei chassis with Westfields own diff casing and drive shafts , which help to keep the weight down, it was about 505kg at last weigh-in. The chassis was completely re-jigged and re-finished by westfield when I rebuilt the car back in 2001/2 and has since been on NMS laser set-up rig where it was spot on There is a full roll cage to make it safe if you want to venture out on track. You can remove the side impact bar . The bodywork is smart and in very good condition and has detachable arches , very rare on a narrow! It has an aero screen and also a brand new spare bonnet and nose in case you get carried away ! Engine is the superb Toyota 4age 1600 twin cam , producing approx 160hp. it is fitted with twin 45s, adjustable verniers , Kent cams, Ali Flywheel, Omex ignition,Tony Law manifold, Polo rad, ali catch and expansion tanks. Gearbox is the Ford type E 4 speed. Clutch is an AP H/D plate with Toyota pressure plate. The key to this car is its superb handling. This is due to the Ash Mason developed anti roll bars fitted front and rear and complimented by Gaz monotube , ali bodied , sperical bearing dampers all round. The steering is taken care of by a quick rack. final drive is a LSD with a 4-4 CWP , but I could change this to a 3-9 or 4-1 if prefered Front brakes are lightweight Hi spec calipers , rears are ali golf calipers CXR wheels are included with a set of Avon ZZRs and also a set of slicks for the track. Front Hubs are ali. The interior is sparse and functionable and has a padded Westfied race seat for the driver , however the passenger has to put up with padded squabs, but both have the safety of 4 point 3" harnesses I will try and put up some photos , bare with me , as a degree in IT is needed to load them on here , I will repeat the ad on the Westfield facebook page where I can easily load pics Please ring if you want more info , but I will update ad when I think of more spec I would like offers based on £7500 or maybe a part ex like a Gti or sports caror similar thanks for looking Stu Hill 079 39 266 971

  6. Hi all. last year I organised a trackday at Croft with the Rs Club which was a huge success selling out quickly with a reserve list, I have been offered the same session this year, It means we can have an exclusive 20 minute session per hour with no other cars other than Westfields and maybe the odd Caterham too ;-) we will get 6 x full 20 minute sessions throughout the day. It is all organised through the Ford Rs club so as usual there will be loads of stalls and stands and plenty of Rs cars to drool over, we will have our own parking area and garages and free camping in with the price too. Price for this is at Cost to the Rs club they are just looking to cover costs on this one, so It will only cost us £150 per car which is a bargain for a noisy day, its 105bd static so there should be no noise issues, these days normally cost £250-£300 . if no one hasnt done Croft there are some videos of the circuit on the video thread on here. http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/104388-the-video-thread/?hl=video please add your name to the list only if you are sure you are going, If you are undecided please do not add and muck me about,I am organising this as a favour for my pal that runs the Ford rs club and wsscc members and just want to make it as easy as I can for myself. There is nothing to pay now , I will ask for payment in full sometime next year I would think around March . 1. Jeff C. Caterham.
  7. I'll blame the combination of the sun streaming in through the window and me having a couple of days gap between pieces of work next week but just booked my first track day - MSV Novice Day @ Brands on Monday. Can't wait! LSD oil leak sorted, car fully checked over, just need to top up my oil levels a bit (flat mounted XE with a chopped sump so will raise it up to the "M" of max and see how much gets blown into the catcher if any), final check of the brake pads and I'm good to go I think. Wish me luck! Cheers, John
