    Steering Wheel Boss

Hi eveyone. I’m new to the forum and new to the world of Westfield ownership. I bought a 2001 Supersport a few months ago and I’m taking the winter to perform some servicing and basic upgrades. Just to set the scene - I’m a novice level mechanic and learning as I go. A few of my planned upgrades require the dash coming out but I’m already stuck. I have a quick release Momo steering wheel which has it’s own carrier / boss. Once I’ve removed that I’m left with a further boss. However I can’t see how this can be removed as there are no screws on view. Is it being held on by friction alone? Do I need a puller to remove it or is there something else obvious I am missing? Thanks in advance
  3. Steering rack, unused. Bought several years' ago as high ratio, but single turn produces ~40mm movement which would seem to be standard ratio. Overall length ~102cm. Part i/d: B/N 44316 SRS105 0311002 Casing stamped 30BR166 72012 991 £50 + postage at cost, or free collection

    MegaS2000 steering

Hello all, I'm considering making some changes to the steering on my otherwise-factory MegaS2000 as the ratio, while OK on the road, seems too high on-track resulting in much crossed arms and hands-off-the-wheel behaviour I'd prefer to avoid. Vehicle is, however, used mostly on the road so I don't want to compromise everything too much. I would imagine I'm on a standard escort rack with the longer steering arms Westfield do, right? After looking at a few other forum posts, my plan of action is to start with the shorter steering arms (as they're quite cheap) and then look at getting the quicker rack from the Aerorace cars installed. Is this a reasonable plan? Will the car need professionally setting up after installing the new arms, or do you think it should just be a straight swap off/on, as long as I'm careful about how far along everything fits? Is it a better idea just to go straight to the quicker rack? Grateful for any advice, Simon

    Pinto SDV - Sierra Rack

Can anyone tell me if the Sierra rack can be used with the 'Pinto' SDV kit? I had assumed that being a 'single donor' meant that the rack would be included, but can't seem to find evidence supporting this! I wouldn't mind, but just shelled out for a Sierra quick-rack a week ago (when I was building an MK before my sudden Westie u-turn) and doubt I'll recoup the cost if I sell it on. I have also bought new Ball joints, rod-ends and drag links, so hope they are useable too! Cheers Chris (learning to be less impetuous)
  9. I've almost finished my Sierra SDV and I'm after a steering wheel boss to fit the factory supplied upper column (not the standard sierra one) and set of doors ASAP please, must be in very good condition. Willing to collect wherever possible. Cheers Steve

    Seight steering rack

My Seight was, I guess, a rolling chassis when it left the factory in 1996. I now have very slight play in the rack (I can move the pinion a few degrees without the rack moving) - no problem with MOT or drivability, but I know it's there. I have looked around, and the rack of choice is the Escort Mk1/2? But my rack does not look like an Escort rack - it does not have any adjustment capability (which I think the Escort rack has?) Any idea what rack Westfield factory fitted to the Seight in 1996?

    Steering boss

Hi all I'm looking for a replacement steering boss as I have bought a new steering wheel and I can't find one anywhere. My current boss is a 100mm pcd with 6 bolt pattern (fits old mountney steering wheel). It has a 40 spline shaft hole and the hole for the spline tapers from 20mm dashboard side to 12mm wheel side. I need to find either a 70mm pcd 6 hole boss or an adapter from my new wheel to the existing boss. FYI I believe that the original steering column came from a ford but I can't be sure Any ideas Cheers

    Steering Wheel 250mm

For sale a suede 250mm steering wheel with a carbon wrap on the front £35 + P&P The PDC holes will fit Sparco, Momo, OMP etc
  13. For sale is my 255mm diameter suede steering wheel, black, and in good used condition. I do not know the make, but it is stamped on the back ' made in Italy' 05 02, which I think is a date stamp and resembles how MOMO stamp theirs. The front boss has a carbon fibre plate firmly stuck onto the besel, onto which I have stuck a Westfield badge, both look the part. Will fit a 6 hole boss, with 28.7mm (1 1/8") PCD, holes are 4mm diameter to take 4mm button head bolts (not supplied) I have tried to show as many measurements in the pictures as I can, and questions please ask. £60 including UK postage. http://s486.photobucket.com/user/Westfield64/media/For%20Sale/IMG_00000189.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1 http://s486.photobucket.com/user/Westfield64/media/For%20Sale/IMG_00000190.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1
