    CBR1000RR Refresh/upgrade

    Ok so I though here was as good as place as any to record the next phase of Westfield ownership. I have owned the current sprint and track car for over a year now and want to bring it a little further up to date. the car was built as a kit from Westfield with a 893 blade engine and has a 2002 registration. the previous main owner @mark.anson brought it into the 20th century with the current 2007 CBR 1000rr engine and it happily upsets much larger machinery at most tracks and is a very good sprint car. but a) I want a project and b) I want to try something that so far I'm unaware that anyone has done to date in a BEC config. so i have (yet to be collected) a 2014 CB1000rr engine and the normal Ab performance sump etc. the plan is to remove the need to have other external box's over and above the ECU for flat shifter and water pump control etc and use a Maxxecu Race stand alone ECU. https://www.maxxecu.com/store/engine-control-or-electronics/maxxecu-standalone-ecu/maxxecu-race-premium-ecu-harnesses-accessories-and-lsu-42 this is quite a lot of functionality for the cash and many drag bikes run this ECU now on the blade engine. So little progress will be made up until the end of September as I have a few events and track days I would still like to do but if I didn't write something now I would find it difficult once I start the big jobs. I'm sure I will be picking all your various brains especially when it comes to the wiring part, still undecided if I go the whole hog with PDM but if funds allow I would like to. cheers
