  1. There is a regular classic car meeting at this venue on the 4th Sunday of each month, the next one is this Sunday the 26th of Feb 2023 This is the hotel where the late Queen famously got stranded in the massive snow drifts in December 1981. I was also not far away, stranded on the M4 at junction 18! Ah great times 😁 Although it's a classic meet all sorts turn up including from time to time myself and a few mates in kit cars. It's free to attend and the hotel lay on bacon rolls, tea, coffee etc for £6.00, but it has to be cash so if you decide to come don't forget your money £££££ It starts around 🕣 8.30am officially but in good weather can be already quite busy by then. The very large car park often fills up completely. Weather forecast is looking half decent for this Sunday so I may pop along I think. 1 or 2 of the guys from the WSCC Bath and Bristol WhatsApp group MAY also be attending I think. If anyone on here turns up please look me up and say hello. if the weather turns out to be dry and not fffffff-freezing cold 🥶 I'll be in the Flying Carrot, my orange Westie on a 14 plate with a full cage. If not I may be in a tin-top or my bed 😂 On the same day there is another event about 11 miles away cross-country via some of the roads that surround Castle Combe race circuit. Some of the attendees may blat off to that one also I reckon. This is the M4 Karting Classic meet at Hangar 88, Hullavington Airfield and runs from 9am til 1pm officially. Both of these events are listed on Facebook if you need more info. A chance to see some beautiful classics while having breakfast and a chat. Last time the bacon rolls were excellent! 🍔🍔🍔☕️☕️☕️ If people are feeling like even more fun then I guess there is always the opportunity to blat off somewhere else afterwards, my favourite trip from there is to AV8 at Kemble/Cotswold Airport but unfortunately atm they are closed on Sundays. Cheers everyone!
  2. Essex Area monthly meet Sunday 8th September at Toby Carvery Runwell, Runwell Road, Runwell, Wickford, SS11 7QJ at 09.00 to circa 12.00 for a buffet breakfast. Weather forecast is currently mostly sunny so will be good to see you all then. For those that haven’t been before we usually park in the main car park which is left past the entrance behind the trees. Looking for a volunteer to plan a run out afterwards. Hope you can make it.

  6. I wonder if anyone would like to meet at the Maldon Motor Show tomorrow instead of the Lodge. Not been to this one before so I can't vouch for it. However, feedback from last year was very good. Alternatively we can meet at the Lodge earlier than usual and take a blat over there. Free entry and a beer tent! What more could you ask for. See links below. http://81.179.240.58/maldon/downloads/Flyer2014.pdf http://www.maldon.gov.uk/events/event/2156/classics_on_the_promenade-the_maldon_motor_show Apologies for the short notice. Tim

Herts, Beds & Bucks Area Meeting, June 2014

Herts, Beds & Bucks Area Meeting, Jun 2014. Thursday 12 Jun 2014. Grove Lock, 7pm onwards. It will be the lightest meeting of the year, I've booked dry weather , why not come along and meet the area members. Everyone welcome. Who can make it this month?
  8. All Areas Welcome! A proposed run to the de Havilland / Mosquito Aircraft Museum on Sunday 7th April. If the numbers of cars are around ten then we can meet at the Harts Horns Pub (51.786199,-0.086837 in Google Maps) then a nice run down the B158 to the Museum. If there are more than ten of us, then we should meet at the Cowper Arms (51.784273,-0.139368 in Google maps) as this has more space and a slightly shorter run down the 158. Meet time at either location will be 10:00. It's about 20mins to the Museum from there so we should get there for opening time. I will be contacting the Museum nearer the time to let them know we are coming, so an idea of numbers would be useful. The entrance is a little lumpy and tight so I will see if we can use the coach entrance instead. I also aim to have them let us park up next to the planes, so bring your camera. 13. It's that time again and once more this months Essex Area meet will be this Sunday 11th August at the Lodge Inn South Woodham Ferrers from 12:00 noon. Sadly for me I wont be able to make this one as I shall be supporting my villages inaugural car show it's so close I could actually push my car there and hence one that has to get my support. As always, everyone is welcome to the meet, whether you're a Westfield owner or not, and indeed any newbies in the area Come join us for a quick drink, a natter and some tyre kicking too. For any newbies thinking of coming along and unsure how to find is we can all normally be found parked up on the gravel and assuming it to be sunny then sat on a bench nearby, If it's wet then we'll be cowering in the bar area.
