Hi all, I have agreed in principle to purchase a 7 style kit car project. The seller inherited the project from a friend and does not know anything about it or who made it. What I can piece together from the pictures is it's made of square box section welded together like a Westfield, bit it has aluminium side panels like a locost would and grp nose and wings. The running gear has been salvaged from a crashed Caterham according to the seller but it does not appear to be a Caterham chassis at all. There are a couple of features I have tried but failed to identify. The first being the fact

Hi, I joined the club at Stoneleigh. I am re-building a 1995 SEIW with my dad so I can hill climb when I'm 16. The car was owned by MGM film studios and needs a new chassis and rear suspension. We have a year to complete our challenge and will be posting a wanted list soon. The car has quite a few parts missing and may need help and advice. Looking forward to chatting to other members.

Hi everyone, I'm a university student, currently working on a project with regards to the use of carbon fibre in kit cars such as the Westfields. Essentially, we are working with Axon Automotive on a passenger tub, where the passenger and the driver are seated, made entirely of carbon fibre (including the beams, the flooring and the side panels); whereas, the front and back of the chassis remain with the original steel frame chassis. So the method used to join the steel frame to the carbon fibre tub is through nuts and bolts. I'm currently conducting a survey just to determine your percep

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone happened to know a bit more about (I think) Axon Automotive and Westfield's prototype on replacing the standard passenger tub (originally made using steel or aluminum bars) to carbon fibre. I tried to look through their website, I thought the kit car was supposed to be in production by the end of last year but I don't see much information about it. On the other hand, I did manage to find a picture, below, of (what I think is) the prototype. Any thoughts on the use of carbon fibre for the tub? I assume it will provide substantial weight saving, and possibly ext

Following an overenthusiastic exit from Gerrards at Mallory Park on Friday I have an embarrassingly bent front nearside. Putting aside the replaceable bits, my main issue is a slightly bent chassis; the nearside top rail is bent a couple of centimetres out of true between about half way along the engine bay (it is a 1991 SEiW which has a diagonal brace running forward to that point) and the front rail. The top front rail accordingly has a slight bow in it but the offside looks fine. No sign of any cracks in tubes or welds. Does anyone have experience of getting a chassis straighten
