  1. I've organised a small blat to this event held by Apple County Kit Car Club tomorrow morning. So far 3 of us going but as well as posting it here it'll be posted on the KitNet forum. I'm leaving Yate BS37 at 8.00am, hopefully meeting a mate at Miety Stone Ltd around 8.45am if he survives the St Pauls Carnival party today and then we are rendezvousing with Rory from WSCC Bristol and Bath WhatsApp group at New Manor Farm shop at 9.00am then on via Cheddar Gorge where we will stop for pics then on to Sweets with an ETA before the 10.00am starting time. Good brekkies served there and given the weather there should be a few APKCC members there too. If anyone else wants to tag along just let me know. This is the full route atm https://maps.app.goo.gl/RjUbyaksWJMdj8DKA
  2. There is a regular classic car meeting at this venue on the 4th Sunday of each month, the next one is this Sunday the 26th of Feb 2023 This is the hotel where the late Queen famously got stranded in the massive snow drifts in December 1981. I was also not far away, stranded on the M4 at junction 18! Ah great times 😁 Although it's a classic meet all sorts turn up including from time to time myself and a few mates in kit cars. It's free to attend and the hotel lay on bacon rolls, tea, coffee etc for £6.00, but it has to be cash so if you decide to come don't forget your money £££££ It starts around 🕣 8.30am officially but in good weather can be already quite busy by then. The very large car park often fills up completely. Weather forecast is looking half decent for this Sunday so I may pop along I think. 1 or 2 of the guys from the WSCC Bath and Bristol WhatsApp group MAY also be attending I think. If anyone on here turns up please look me up and say hello. if the weather turns out to be dry and not fffffff-freezing cold 🥶 I'll be in the Flying Carrot, my orange Westie on a 14 plate with a full cage. If not I may be in a tin-top or my bed 😂 On the same day there is another event about 11 miles away cross-country via some of the roads that surround Castle Combe race circuit. Some of the attendees may blat off to that one also I reckon. This is the M4 Karting Classic meet at Hangar 88, Hullavington Airfield and runs from 9am til 1pm officially. Both of these events are listed on Facebook if you need more info. A chance to see some beautiful classics while having breakfast and a chat. Last time the bacon rolls were excellent! 🍔🍔🍔☕️☕️☕️ If people are feeling like even more fun then I guess there is always the opportunity to blat off somewhere else afterwards, my favourite trip from there is to AV8 at Kemble/Cotswold Airport but unfortunately atm they are closed on Sundays. Cheers everyone!

Where do I post about blats I am doing??

Hi all. I am newish to this forum and have to say I'm struggling to navigate it a bit (it's me not you!) If I plan a trip out in the Westie it's often short notice so I'm usually alone. Getting together with others for a blat I have found is about as easy as getting that last bit of Marmite out of the jar! If I wanted to post about going out and looking for others who are available or fancy a meet up, where do I post it please? PS while I'm at it, what is 'item prefix' all about just below the 'tags' box while I'm writing this?

If those interested post so on here, then I'll sort out meet points on route from North Manchester. 6. This is to advertise a Cotswold Club organised trip by DONNA and MALC. Steve Adkins of SA Motorsport runs a small workshop that specialises in metal fabrication of all kinds of product for the world of competition cars including kitcars. Currently he is working on a hillclimb/ sprint E46 3-series saloon and will show us what and how he tackles this specialist work.Over the years he has created four different things that you can see fitted on Donna and Malc’s car -- custom Roll Cage, the front splitter, front canards and the rear diffuser. For the world of Kitcars SA have fabricated all these things and much custom work like passenger covers so expect to see some samples of this work – who knows, you may come away with a new rear diffuser fitted! OUR MAIN AIM IS TO HAVE A NICE RUN OUT --- DONNA and MALC have fixed a really good cross-country tour. It’s a 70 mile trip along the Fosse way and you’ll really enjoy the scenery. Please register you interest with Andrew Reeve DATE SATURDAY 13th JUNE 2015 START Convoy at 8.30 a.m. from the Tewkesbury BP petrol station off J9 of the M5 TO WHERE Near Hinckley LE10 3EN WEB www.sa-motorsport.co.uk is their website for more details

Meet Bertie The Essex Blat Bear

We have a new member in the Essex Area called Bertie the Blat Bear, he has joined to enjoy passenger rides in the Westfields of Essex and would like to meet as many members as possible. Being of the younger generation he likes taking selfies and would like you to help him take lots of pictures of him on his travels. He is also very fussy and refuses to travel in anything other than a Westfield. Once he has travelled around with the Essex members he plans to visit as many members of the other WSCC areas as possible, again only travelling by Westfields. Lets see where he gets to and what kind of photos he takes
  8. Its that time in the year to start the Essex blats, so the first Essex Blat is scheduled for 8th March for a run out before the monthly meet. So pop a note on the family calendar, polish your Westy and join in, meeting up at 10am at McDonalds at Boreham on the A12. I will plan a route and meeting place next week. I will plan a route which will finish at the Lodge sometime around noon.
  9. We had this down for last years but event in London meant that the roads were closed on the planned date and know that Andy has it on his list of event for the year. Looking at my diary I don't think I can fit this in until October and its probably nicer to do in the summer months.....but... If we can get a date agreed and I plan a route who's up for this? From experience fro a couple of years ago when we last did this, you really can only travel in pairs (or maybe threes) so we need to have several people who can load and follow TYRE ITN routes. Discuss.
  10. Just got back from a great day out round't'Dales, despite too much traffic in parts. Bury-Skipton-Grassington-Castle Bolton-Reeth-Muker-Hawes-Settle-Bury. Between Reeth and Muker, coming the other way down the road was the best owners club convoy ever! Around 40 (yes FORTY) tractors, the majority very old Massey Ferguson! Never seen anything like it, and I've been to a fair few Agricultural Shows in the past. Also saw a large troupe of TR6s, many MX5s, a gang of Elises, a lonely Caterham, solitary Morgan and Porche Speedster Replica. - plus too many Sunday drivers (surprisingly) and fast cars going very slowly .
  11. A quick heads up that this Sunday will be another Essex area meet at the Lodge Inn South Woodham Ferrers from 12:00 noon. As always, everyone is welcome, whether you're a Westfield owner or not, and indeed any newbies in the area Come join us for a quick drink, a natter and some tyre kicking too. For any newbies thinking of coming along and unsure how to find us we can all normally be found parked up on the gravel and assuming it to be sunny sat on a bench nearby, If it's wet then we'll be cowering in the bar area. Myself and Pete will be easy to spot sporting our new blue shirts bearing our names and the WSCC logo For those interested in a Pre-lunch blat, Pete has also plotted us a varied 45mile route to the pub starting from the McDonalds at Boreham at 10am with a coffee stop along the way then hopefully arriving in time for lunch Hopfully we'll see you there
