As for last year I will be purchasing two 35 pint (1/2 barrel) beers from my local Brewery for your consumption on Saturday evening. Although primarily for WSCC members and supporters, the 'Bar' will be open to ALL at Blyton with the aim of making as much as possible for charity. There will be a 'Hope Against Cancer' charity pot and donations will be expected before you are served! You all will be aware how much a pint is in your local pub so PLEASE come prepared to make suitable donations for this worthy charity (the beer will cost £2 per pint so it is suggested that donations are higher ! ! ! ) I will provide plastic glasses for those who do not wish to bring their own. (Sunday Competitors - please drink responsibly )
LAMB IN A BAP...! As it's a special year and it's appropriate to formally recognise the people who organise and run the show (give Tolf a break from the BBQ basically), our traditional post AGM meal will be a fully catered affair this year! Most will be familiar with the format and will probably have sampled some of the food in years past, as we are delighted to announce that the Farmers Fayre Hog Roast chaps from the show-ground are going to put on a whole Lamb for us This will be outside the Marquee directly after the AGM. Of course you are welcome to bring your own food if you'd prefer another option and we can fire up the WSCC BBQ as required for the vegetarian option. There will also be green and Greek salads, coleslaw and potato salad. You are also welcome to bring your own drinks but beer and soft drinks in limited quantities will be provided as usual. For clarity, this is open to invited guests, the organisers and the volunteers. It is not open to mates or non-club members unless by prior arrangement. In order to "qualify", you'll need to make yourselves known to the organising team and if poss, wear your volunteer TeeShirt/show your volunteer wrist band as this will help the caterers identify us and feed us So there you go, please make every effort to attend the AGM and come and join your fellow members for a Lamb bap after.
It's that time again Essex Area Monthly meeting this Sunday at the usual venue the Lodge Inn SWF from 12:00 noon. As you have been posting on here about how much fun you've been having now your cars are all taxed again I'll expect to see a few Westfield's in the car park but ashamedly being a soft northerner (of the essex variety) I shall be in the tin top whist my Westfield enjoys one final month tucked away in the garage Hope to see some of you there Mark
