A combination of the poor weather, house selling/hunting and me actually doing jobs on the Westfield has kept me from hunting alternate venues once again... So, this Thursday's monthly meet will be at the Golden Pheasant, Plumley, as before! 7.30pm start, hopefully we’ll start seeing some more Westfields in the carpark now! As an early heads up for. May’s meet, weather permitting, we will have a run out ending up at the Swettenham Arms. Meet up details, nearer the time! -

Yes, once again, it's time for Naan breads to quiver in fear, it's Cheshire's Christmas Curry! Thursday 7th December. Having enjoyed it so much in previous years, it's back again to the Eastern Revive - and highly recommended it was, too, it's not to far away from our regular meeting place either, so we'll meet up in Knutsford itself. As before, we will be meeting up in the Rose & Crown, just down the road, from about 7.30 pm before we wander over to the Eastern Revive, on King Street for about 8.00 pm. Just a reminder, this Thursday, the fifth, is our regular monthly meet at The Whipping Stocks, Nr Knutsford, meet up from aprox 7.30pm. This should be our penultimate meet at the ‘Stocks, but please keep an eye on the Monthly meet calendar/announcements, just to make sure! (behind the scenes, the management change isn’t exactly amicable, and the brewery are being t**ts, so we’ll turn up to support the excellent current manager, Kevin and his wife, till the last. But then we’re outta there!) -

As those of you present at last Thursday's meet will know, November's meet will be our last at the Whipping Stocks, though this shouldn't affect us until January, as we've gone elsewhere for our Christmas meal for quite a few years now. Sadly the brewery and the current management don't really seem to see eye to eye, and with great regret, the current manager and his wife will be moving on. I'm afraid, one of the things they didn't agree on, was the brewery's attitude to clubs, club nights and so forth. The new managers will be under strict instructions from the very top: no clubs, no reserved rooms, no car park meets, period. So at a stroke, we're all out, us, the Ferrari owners club, Aston Martin owners club et al! So, while October's and November's meets should be unaffected, I'm currently looking at alternative venues. Initially, I've been looking at possible places not too far away from the Whipping Stocks; it makes no sense, given the location of the Manchester meet to go any further North, and both West and East are served by the Wirral & N. Wales plus Shropshire Areas and the Peak District Area on the other side. So the only other question, is do we go any further South? I'm well aware that we are the Cheshire and North Staffordshire Area, yet for twenty years at least, we seem to have been in the northern reaches of Cheshire! Is there any demand for a meet either more centrally between Cheshire and Staffs? Indeed would this be a problem for existing regulars, if we did head closer to Staffordshire? We have the next couple of meet nights to discuss this, but I wanted our regulars to have been able to digest and think about it, as well as anyone who hasn't made it up from the Staffs area so far, due to the distance, to perhaps come along and put the case for a more central venue! Roll up, roll up! It's that time again This Thursday, the 3rd, 7.30pm onwards at the Whipping Stocks, near Knutsford. Also, all Cheshire & N. Staffs folk please note, we will be having a run up to the local areas get together the following week, on the 9th - full details here If anyone wants to travel up to the Manchester Area based meet in convoy, we could meet at the Whipping stocks on the 9th at around 6.15, leaving 6.30pm promptly. Or, of course, meet up there... This will be a fantastic opportunity to get together for a chat and a tyre kit with our neighbouring areas, please help and support this, and make it a cracking night! -
