I have a new hobby, when I approach the cyclists and slow down, I overtake them and then just lift off the throttle slightly, so I can hear Dave behind me accelerate past them. It works every time and it sounds fantastic, now that is how to turn a negative into a positive. We had breakfast next to the real fire But not before John and Jacky arrived in their super special car. It is a Honda S2000, GT model, with a rare platinum pearl white paint. It is an 08 plate with only 7500 miles on the clock, it is immaculate, just wait until you see the engine bay, a rare sight on this forum, a Honda engine actually in a Honda car. After brekkie, we set off on some very scenic roads, everyone was glad when the slow MX5 turned off, why would you drop the top and bring your sports car out on a day like today, only to drive at 40 mph? When you see SLOW written on the road in white paint, it means normal cars must SLOW for the tight corner ahead, in sports car language it translates to FUN, prepare to speed up around the corner, yes? tell me I am wrong. Moving on, we booted it up the essess to Elton, and booted it down the Via Gellia, nice quiet roads today, thank you. We waited for the others at one point, which was an excellent photo opportunity. We arrived at the Cromford Canal cafe, and it was cake time, yummy, yummy, ginger and lemon cake, I've never had that one before. Dave showed us his interior lighting display, which was impressive, I didn't know Westfield's had interior lights, what colour would sir like to travel by today, blue, green or orange? The view from inside the cafe, we sat upstairs The cafe The canal The GT86 Another brilliant day, with great, fun, roads, lovely views, lovely cars, excellent eating establishments, but best of all is the people and the laugh that we have. Now, next weekend is the WSCC committee meeting so we will not be out, I am going to let Martyn's tyres down in the week , so he cannot go without us. If the weather is as sparkling as this I will be mortified and wildly jealous, and I definitely don't want to know about it Martyn. We will be back in action the weekend after though.

thanks for a good day out it was brill we got lost but hay hoow we met again never been round that neck of the woods just a little uneasy about the sun in the eyes and push bikes coming home was great to Glossop on the A 6 got on the main road from Manchester to Barnsley with top still down only to be hit by a shower of salt from a dangler doing 50 coming to the other way sprayed all over us and was fuc pleep pleep off then so when we got home it was dark so needed to jet wash and soap the car down with a flash light on the drive its now in garage drying out with a fire on is it really worth having a nice car round here may has spent on a log cabin in Scotland and chilled out for rest of our life anyway thanks for the day out the breakfast would have killed me but I think we will go again even in the ford focus cos its nice thanks john and jak

Picked up the westy today. Didn’t get a wink of sleep last night I was that excited!! Massive thanks to @RussH for all the help, support and guidance throughout this journey and for the time freely given to assist me find the right car. Anyway, I bought a Kingfisher Blue SEIW with a tuned 2l XE engine. The car is absolutely epic.....I love everything about it and so does the Mrs! I bought the car from @john10speed and it’s a known car within the club. Looking forward to getting my head around what’s what and meeting a few of you at events through the warmer weather. Heres a few piccies.......

It's alive! Got my Westy back on the road today! Had the gearbox rebuilt whilst the engine was out - new selector forks, synchro cones, seals, bearings, pump and breather. Changed the clutch to an organic clutch plate, new cover, release bearing, strengthened fork (the part that failed) and a McLeod Racing lightened flywheel which took over 3 months to come from the USA. Even sailed through its MoT Happy days.
