Outstanding day, very informative, very hands on, with lots of friendly knowledgeable volunteers. Well organised and terrific value for money, would thoroughly recommend to anyone. The chance to go into the cockpit and chat with a veteran Vulcan pilot was a huge bonus. Thank you to @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO for organising and the club for subsidising it for the members. A memorable day out, looking forward to see the many photos posted!6 points

We’ve been staying in Bakewell for the last week with a relative, and today had a walk along the Monsal trail from Monsal Head to Hassop Station Cafe where we had lunch. Along the way, I spotted a sign to the famous Quackers cafe, a regular haunt for the Peak District gang. We didn’t stop there, although I checked for any Westies in the car park as we went by. The views were very nice from the viaduct, the tunnel was fun and the weather kind. We saw three rather chunky looking buggies which I quite fancied a go in, and a Jag with excellent number plate in town. Maybe one day I will trailer the car up here and enjoy some of the wonderful roads myself. Almost forgot to mention, having been a committed Bakewell Tart man for years, we discovered the more authentic Bakewell Pudding this trip. It is dangerously delicious I can tell you!!3 points

What an amazing day! Thank you @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO for organising. Really enjoyed seeing you all and the Vulcan too. The Vulcan volunteers were Incredibly informative. Could have chatted to the ex-Vulcan pilot all day. I can’t believe the small size of the cockpit. Those instruments looked incredibly simple for the job the Vulcan had to perform. Pair of external rear view mirrors with mountings. Were on the windscreen pillars of my SEi using existing centre screws. Not to be confused with Rover 100 mirrors, defo not the same thing! I’ve added convex blind spot mirrors to them and they provided good visibility on both sides, but as they are only stuck on with adhesive tape, they can be removed fairly easily if you prefer. They are quite secure and don’t shake about while driving. £25.00 for the pair in a box with bubble wrap and rather poor penmanship address labelling. POSTAGE NOT INCLUDED. I will advise and provide options and costs, and you can choose which one to use. Alternatively, you can arrange your own collection by courier; collect it from me in deepest, darkest Warwickshire; meet me at a Warwickshire area meet or Stoneleigh or Malvern (weather permitting); or you can send your tame carrier gannet to fly them to you (other options are available but unlikely). PM me if interested. CAUTION: Kindly do not try to pull my plonker with a cheeky bid like, “I’ll take them if you throw in free P & P”, or a lower bid. I’m a grumpy old man with forum admin powers and a well-earned reputation for boardroom mischief and shenanigans, as many in here will attest to their cost when they attempted to wind me up in the past. What’s more, I like doing it. The price is fixed. If no one buys them, I may well fit them to one of my dogs. Not that it will help them, but it will amuse me for a short period. Thanks for reading this far. I can’t imagine you have any questions pertaining to the mirrors, but you might. I’m going back to my red wine now.1 point
