  4. Received refurbished shocks for my track Westfield from https://www.thunderlane.eu . I bought the car in 2018, with a few years of history before that, and I think the shocks had never been overhauled. They got new bearings, thinner valves for a lightweight car, new bump stops, etc. They were dyno tested (I don’t understand those diagrams at all 😕, but I was assured they were matched in pairs). I’m really curious whether I’ll feel the difference. When they were “new” ( I mean after few seasons in Westfield Cup NL , and on some endurance challenges (got few broken wishbones with that car ) , even on the softest settings the car was quite darty. Hopefully this effort and the expense — will be noticeable 🙂 Edit – oh, and I had my springs measured: front (RED) 60 N/mm, rear (BLACK) 40 N/mm. Not sure if this is right or wrong, but at least I now have a baseline if I learn which way to go softer or stiffer at the front or rear in the future.

Has Glen fixed them yet ? I should hope so …. his got more time on his hands than the rest of us 🤔

  7. Meeting at Cupola, some of us arrived more toasty than others didn't they Mr Westwood? A table for 10, we had a few wonderful surprises today, with @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO and @aeg and Becky, even Bagpuss making a last minute journey in his little Santa hat, sat there on the bonnet. In the car park at Cupola. After a hearty breakfast we had a good journey around the Peak District, not too busy and roads in a somewhat dry condition, good for December anyway. We soon arrived at the Cock and Pullet (stop laughing) at Sheldon, which is near Bakewell We were eating a little bit lighter today as we were stuffed full of Christmas cake, this sentence does not apply to the Westwood's who might have had a full on Sunday lunch Thanks Becky for the photo's on the move and thank you to everyone for making the day wonderful, see you all in 2026, kiss kiss.

  8. So finally had a chance to get into the garage to sort the worn bushings out and try the tool i made. I made a couple of modifications including adding clearance where it butts up against the wishbone as some have larger welds than others, and also to make a custom nut with a very long thread to try to avoid stripping threads. This also makes it easier to use as a socket no longer needs to fit in. I can confirm that it worked - I knew two of the bushings were worn, but ended up replacing five as I found some of the others were worn. This was all I had to hand and I haven't even started on the rear suspension yet. Photos are the tool with modifications, the tool in use for removal, and the end result with the removed bushing on the tool. Installation was easier than removal. I changed the front upper bushings on the car without removing the wishbones so it ended up being relatively easy. I don't know why this worked when others have needed so much force for removal, but there was no significant rust at all so maybe that made it easier?
