Nice breakfast turnout for the Essex & N Kent regulars, still dry!

Solo run out to The Motorist this morning, no bacon sarnie though, the queueing was immense. I knew the Cobra club was meeting there, so thought I'd show them up!

Just in case there are any doubters out there- I am still alive, I still have the car, it's still fantastic fun and it still makes me grin stupidly. Even better, my youngest (6) thinks it is better than Alton Towers. "How quickly does the red stick (odo needle) get to 60?" Was today's question. The answer was lost in cackling and shouts of 'make it go faster'!

Sounds like like a right nause. It always amazes me, we live in the country which has arguably the most kit cars in the world, but has some of the worst roads, worst traffic, worst weather and most anti car government and rules anywhere in the world! We must be nuts! 😂

A little bit of miscommunication meant that we didn't meet up with Tim for the drive up to GBS, but we met there instead. Both Tim Lawton and Andrew Clarke had to leave early due to other commitments, so that left us and my friend Mark to head to the cafe for lunch. After an excellent lunch, Mark made his own way home in his BMW, whilst we headed out to the 'On Freedom's Wings', Lancaster memorial just off the A46. We took some pics from the viewing point in the nearby road. It looked fantastic in the sunshine!

My last 'toy' was a V8 Land Rover with the usual incontinence issues (desert patrol replica)... so I'm well used to the familiar whiff of oil, petrol and exhaust fumes😂 I'm currently looking at ramp options... again, that wasn't such an issue for the Land Rover

The new first minister is still Welsh labour and probably more extreme and control obsessed than the last two . A few non labour councils have changed a few roads from 20 to 30 but there are so many 40 and 50 limits progress is very slow. When they brought in the 20 blanket they bought 31 more camera vans and lots of fixed cameras.
