  1. I am interested in the Welsh tour in September...but I need a) details of exactly where and when to meet in Llandrindod, and b) the route in some form. I can visit my family in Monmouth and do this on my way home to Chester. Cheers! paulhale@talktalk.net

  2. Recently had a track day at Donington on the full circuit .. here's SWMBO taking her 82 year old dad out for a spin Sat at home with the stopwatch I managed a fastest lap of 2min6secs which I don't think is too bad for an old man with no budget and even less talent

  3. Exactly ! - this is "sight" i have attached to see where this wheel is In Westfield I can see both wheels. In MNR left front not. I've got to say (not to brag or anything 🙂), but it actually works — and I’m really proud of this tuning!

  4. Thanks to Paul at Howden for helping with my renewal. Change of underwriter from Marker Study to AXA, with the same cover and excess rules, but a saving of £26 on last year's cover. However, one to watch out for, I had to give a reminder that I'm opted out of auto-renewal. Take care Gary

  5. The 2025 trip to Dumfries was fab, blue skies, good roads and cold beer. The second YDG of the year will be in Wales in September, based in Llandrindod Wells and visiting Devil’s Bridge and the Elan Valley. Why not come along.

  6. I did about 15 miles in the Westfield this morning so look forward to meeting you all at Castle Combe. The gearbox problem was a broken main shaft. Apparently it's relatively common as there is a thrust washer which sits in the groove and the drillings create a stress point. Huge thanks to Paul at First Motion Transmissons https://www.firstmotion.co.uk/. I took the box out of the car on the Sunday, took it to him Monday lunchtime and he had fixed it by Thursday evening.

  7. Ah, apologies — I genuinely had no idea this had already been developed! Looks like we stumbled upon the same solution independently — classic case of convergent evolution 😄 I imagine it's not just the MNR that could benefit, but pretty much any high-scuttle, pointed-nose kit car would gain from having a “sightline” like that. Great minds engineering in parallel, huh? 😉

  8. after completing front & rear end upgrade to new Protech & Powerflex, wanted to have the geometry checked & set up to make sure I’m pointing in the right direction. In stepped @Maurici- CleaR Motorsport Thank you Maurici for the service with the bonus of an A-Road drive thru Staffs/Shrop & Cheshire to test it on the way home - happy days 🤩🙏🫶🏼

  11. What is that sticking up from the front left wing? Is it so you can see where the wheel is approximately if you can't actually see the wheel from the drivers seat? Now you'll tell me it was just a bit of track debris that got stuck and I'll have to hide from the embarrassment for a month 😂

  12. It’s a really complicated topic, worthy of a thread on its own. It’s not a black and white thing either, many get into the idea of bump steer = bad, must eliminate. The reality is, that it’s just another element, that needs to be controlled, but can also be used beneficially. Lotus for example, often use controlled amounts of bump steer beneficially.
