  1. Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Russell Brynolf, retired engineer, and I've always wanted to build a kit car for myself. Last August I finally received my kit from Westfield, yes, here in the USA, delivered in a large crate containing many, many boxes! Not the best of assembly instructions, and several parts missing, but, overcome those issues and I'm proud to say I finished the build yesterday!! Pictures attached. Next is to get it inspected and registered. To achieve this in Michigan the car is required to have bumpers front and rear at 14-22" from the ground. They will look a little stupid but that the only way to complete the inspection. Engine still runs a little lumpy, but otherwise drives great. let me know any comments or suggestions. Ta.

  2. Maybe some of you have heard the latest news – Le Mans 2025 was won by Polish driver Robert Kubica! His main sponsor is ORLEN. While I was testing my recently finished (and finally working!) MNR, it seems some folks from ORLEN were watching my driving — and they sent me a whole cistern of their fuel. Nice!

  3. Hi All I am based in Peterborough and just bought a 2019 FW special edition and looking for local enthusiasts. Hoping to see if there is a meet in the Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire or Northamptonshire areas. Also wondering if there are any Westfield specialist garages for servicing and (hopefully not repairs) but I am sure there will be. I certainly fit into the category of being able to just about rustle enough time to clean and drive but not a lot else, hence why I bought as new as possible. Any suggestions of servicing specialist would be great. Looking forward to the journey ahead! All the best

  6. Beautiful example of an original Long Wheel Base 1974 VW GP Beach Buggy (as detailed on the V5) - MOT and Road Tax exempt. Rebuilt and restored from the ground up. Original 1600 engine 1974 chassis. Original speedometer. EMPI gear knob and wheel. New seats. Drives lovely, lots of power! Body sprayed in white metallic with blue metallic stripe. 5. 1 JL Audio Sound system is an absolute highlight with a custom built rear mould housing a sub and two rear speakers, plus 2 front speaker and Bluetooth interface. Sounds incredible. Condition is superb, a few minor imperfections on the body work. Driven in the summer and gets lots of attention! Well maintained by experienced retired mechanic who specialises in classic cars. Comes with lots of history (pictures on a USB stick of the rebuild). Also comes with a towing A frame that attaches to the front of the chassis. Absolute delight and will be missed however it's time to move onto something new and let someone else enjoy driving down the road listening to The Beach Boys! Any questions please ask away. Pictures don't do it justice in my view, it's fantastic. Happy to take out on a drive to experience the thrill. The specification is outstanding and the attention to detail in the restoration is lovely. Every nut and bolt stainless steel. The engine all chrome and looks elegant. It's also super comfortable and carpeted. There's also room in that back for luggage. I drove this back from Bournemouth to Kent when I purchased it. Since then it's been on day trips to the beach, and even gets the odd trip out to the shops! Only on sunny days of course! Ask for more details and pictures. Price £8995

  7. Welcome. Ant’s car has resurfaced!! You’ve now joined the best club 😀. I’m in central Lincolnshire which I know is a stretch from Peterborough but welcome to pop up here or join in on trips out. I normally travel to the Peak District as it has been an active group for quite a while and I’ve made life long friends. Off on Sunday on the WSCC lakes and dales trip. As far as servicing etc, I’ve found a good mechanic at Finneys. Just at the end of Coningsby runway. He has made several 7 style cars and knows his stuff. Engine tuning I would recommend AP Racing Engines. General mechanics could be done at GBS in Retford. I’m sure the more local members from the Norfolk group have now found suitable places. Either way, enjoy your ownership and above all get out in it - don’t just park it in a garage!!

  8. After 20+ years of Westfield ownership I finally sold mine last year, whilst I built it, modified and maintained it I did use these guys in Oundle to cary out some engine work (I simply didn’t have the time to spare) on my 2.0 Zetec. Top quality from a small team of real petrol heads who cared! Speak with Trev, top man! https://www.qprep.co.uk/

  11. Just to bear in mind…… This weekend is the Dave Myers “Dave day” whereby bikers will travel from London to Barrow in Furness. Last year the event attracted over 46000 bikers travelling up the M6 to Cumbria and ending in Barrow. We may see a residue of these so please bear it in mind, sunday could be a busy time. I’ll put on a plan of the route they’re taking but more can be found online.
