Hello Everyone For many of you, I probably don’t need much of an introduction—I’m that guy with the weird accent and a rather flamboyant driving style in the Speed Series! For those who don’t know me as well, I’m Maurici, an Automotive and Motorsport Engineer originally from Mallorca. I’ve been based in the UK since 2015, working with a major OEM. I had the privilege of being taken under the wing of Adam Read (AdamR on the forum), and over the years, I’ve worked closely with him on car builds, testing, setups, and countless laps on the track. I’m thrilled to announce that after a period of downtime, Clear Motorsport is back in action! I’ll be running it myself from a humble but professionally equipped garage in Leighton, Cheshire. My goal is to provide a service I truly believe the area has been missing—combining expertise, passion, and a personal touch. You can check out the official presentation post here: clearmotorsport.co.uk The website and post content are still under construction, but you’ll get a good idea of what’s on offer. The contact details are fully up-to-date, so feel free to reach out—I’d love to chat about cars and help you take your vehicle to the next level! Looking forward to hearing from you all. Cheers, Maurici clearmotorsport.co.uk8 points

I have to say that even with a bit of back and forth with the Agreed value for The Lobster, that I think was more the underwriter than Thatcham... it was an absolute pleasure dealing with Richard Spencer... Amazing knowledge of my Westfield and nothing was too much of a surprise taking in account is a one off. Not only that, but this year, they managed to Improve the quote of my engine swapped MR2, and when I dealt with Thasha for my former extremely modified Saxo, had a similar experience. Insure a car like this with so little trouble is mainly impossible where I'm coming from, and even once in uk the European driving license has sometimes been a problem and many times ended with some sort of gray deal, what an immense pleasure finding the Thatcham branch.3 points

7s Speed Series – 2025 Welcome to the newly launched 7s Speed Series – Sprint & Hillclimb Championship for 2025. It is aimed at attracting 7s Type cars and providing a friendly and inviting challenge for those that want to have a go at Motorsport, specifically Sprint & Hillclimb’s which are a great entry to any Motorsport. Safe and a lot of fun to partake in with a friendly bunch of people in the Paddock always willing to help out. It has been born out of the very successful Westfield Club Championship originally started in 1998, so plenty of experience in running this kind of Championship. Having seen many a 7 at Hillclimb or Sprint, competing in a class by themselves, we wanted to give then a Championship that they could compete against similar cars. The classes have been chosen to fit in with many of the Clubs whose events we will attend but also specifically restricted to the known 7s type cars out there, whilst at the same time having classes for more usual Kit Cars. The Scoring is based on % to the 2nd place competitor in each class as shown in the regs. This has proved to be very successful by many of the Sprint & Hillclimb Clubs. By not using records every round is competitive no matter the weather. We have a total of 32 events for 2025 with 13 Hillclimb’s and 19 Sprints all over the country. Looking forward to some great Motorsport in 2025. Entries will be open by Mid-January. 7s Speed Series 20025 Draft Regs.pdf1 point

Quite right - I think you’ll find that I’M the one who causes confusion around here. Although I could use a sidekick… 🤪 (Apologies unnecessary, no worries 👍)1 point

What better way to celebrate my 10th consecutive insurance policy with Howden, than with another great price and efficient, friendly process.1 point

This. There is no obvious "weak points" that you will be able to fix on the roadside. There is lack of build quality... And that is everybody's own and each car. How come a well maintained nova will still run oem cables 30 years down the line, and an under driven toy car needs to carry spares? Tyre plugs, a few cable ties and graffa tape... (To sort possible bodyworks mishaps) And means to inflate a tyre... And not much more should be needed. The car is made based on oem stuff... Do you carry an starter motor, a set of coolant hoses and spare fluids in your daily when commuting? My advice... Do an accelerated wear test (drive it like stolen on track a few times) fix the issues that arise (they will). Repeat. After this... Nothing trivial should break.1 point

@Steve G. we're in the process of buying a house on the north side of Romsey. If all goes to plan we should be in there March latest and my Westy will come out to play 1st April. I'm retired so usually up for anything Westfield related.1 point
