  1. Hope Dan's checks are going to plan. I can offer a whole and single degree of temperature with lots of sunshine . My route will be on the big roads up to the Ladybower Reservoir's so the views will be just stunning. Wrap up warm and prepare to feel alive๐Ÿคฉ

  2. I'll do my best, the weather doesn't look all that conducive currently though. What's different? On the car, not much. Me? One year older and greyer I guess ๐Ÿ™„

  4. Just had the offer of one of these courses. 81mph on a motorway. First ticket in 19 years of driving. Grr. Interestingly, the letter gave details of the thresholds for courses/fixed penalty/court: Higher than I thought before you go straight to fixed penalty. Though clearly other police forces might do things differently. Anyway. Looking forward to the course. Gods I miss living in Germany - 70mph still feels painfully slow even after 8 years back in the UK.

  5. Thanks for your replies, attendance at awards depends on knee surgery. The challenge is to find something big enough.

  6. Westfield made the Sport 2000 with a duratec, I think starting around 2004. As Dave says the Opel/Vauxhall engine has never been a factory option

  7. Funny, but I found my V2 ever so slightly larger than expected when I first tried it on - but Its fine with a balaclava on though, so it worked out OK in the end. Very happy with mine - only minor gripe is not having a quick visor swap system like my motorbike lids always had.

  8. Worth a look at SBD or QED for XE tuning.

  9. Have you considered a Vauxhall XE more likely to find with a type 9 gearbox and a bit older?

  10. It is indeed not easy. Also, Duratec are usually mated to MT75 gearboxes, so your search is gonna be even more difficult. Something pops up every now and then, so keep an eye on the Sales section

  11. Yes I think it is early years for the Duratec.. As I am sure with the other members I will keep an eye on the adverts for you...

  16. A friend of mine phoned me today, simmering about having to do a SAC at age 75, nicked for doing 34mph in a 30 zone. Naturally, once I found out where it happened so I could avoid it in future, I sympathetically laughed at him down the phone. ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‘น After all, what are friends for?
