  14. Look at ledsave.co.uk Batten lights..I have used loads at work and put singles in my workshop..two singles spread a metre apart better than one double.. Simple to connect up and ones at work have lasted well.. Good prices.. I also bought bulk head lights for outside with sensor..really bright and only about 7watt

Now: Someone has (aside of premier inn) any other recomendation on where tostay having the rush motorsport works westfield and the munter in two trailers please? Thanks.

  21. I didn’t buy the first one I saw. I bought the first one I didn’t see! I happened to mention to a friend living in Italy that I fancied a 7 type car and he said/admitted he had one in storage in the UK that he’d not used for a decade. So I agreed to buy it there and then, sight unseen. It so transpired it was lovely original SEiGHT from 1993, which after some modest recommissioning has proved to be awesome. But I accept that seeing a car for real, prior to purchase, is the more sensible option. (As a quick aside, last week I bought another car, sight unseen, as a partner for the Westy. It’s a Maserati GranSport - the only UK one ordered in dark green. As a one-off, in the same colour as my SEIGHT, I couldn’t resist. So far, a week into ownership, it appears I’ve got lucky once again. But time will tell...

  22. Every time I hear the name Surtees or see the Matchbox F1 / F2 cars I immediately remember reading "Tiger" comic which had a story about Skid Solo, racing driver. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/the-legend-that-was-skid-solo-4976108/4976108/

  25. I had s similar "dilema", as id set my heart on a build once retired. Then a wise old man said to me, "if you buy one you can put petrol in and begin enjoying it" I went to the factory, had a test drive then bought their demo car (which just happened to be for sale)... Ive never looked back. There's pleanty time for tinkering, servicing and upgrading but getting out on the road is where its at for me.....

  26. You have to balance a lot of things. Budget, spec, availability and time. If you buy one apart from upgraditus, you are good to go no waiting. If you like driving more than building I would suggest buy one ready done, already there are a few more on the usual sites. If you want to build then set a budget and see what that gets you. Single doner is best cost wise if you keep it standard and then the skys the limit if you go for all the bells and whistles. After a crossflow, any car with 150 BHP will be faster than you realise. Certainly for the road you will never use 150bhp never mind 200bhp.

  27. Staying on the Mk 1 Ford Escort theme here is is a photo of the two loves of my life taken in 1978 on Port Issac beach on our honeymoon in Cornwall. The eagle eyed of you will know that it is Port Wenn in Doc Martin and directly above my Mexico you can see Doc Martin's Surgery! I no longer have the Mexico unfortunately it had to go for our house deposit which was rather large as the mortgage rate was 15% in 1980 when we entered the housing market. Kids don't know anything about starting out these days there was no bank of Mum & Dad for us! Anyway the good news is my lovely wife is still with me. Below my Mexico are some photos of a 1934 Singer 9 Le Man that I had stored in a garage in my Father's orchard which I was restoring but unfortunately that also fell foul of the house deposit contribution. You know I often wish I still had my Mexico but ironically out of the Singer and the Mexico the Mexico is more valuable! Strange world!

  28. Yeah, not a gig, but a music doco of sorts, full length and HD - and thoroughly interesting. Buddy Guy is still touring at 84, and his memory is sharp as a tack.
