Hi guys, further good news for little Eleanor, she was taken into the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle Thursday night, then Saturday at 1pm was taken for her surgery.. At 7pm she came out onto the ICU and good news all went well, no problems... Is still on life support and hopefully will be removed from there either today or tomorrow. She has a lot of machines hooked up which is quite daunting to see but it's so much relief to have this completed. Mum is in total lock down with her on the ward for the next 2 weeks. Thank you for all the support and well wishes for everyone from myself and my wonderful wife 👊4 points

Secret Life of Machines Found this via a post on Locost and had forgotten how brilliant this series was by Tim Hunkin - fantastic stuff 😁👍 https://www.exploratorium.edu/ronh/SLOM/index.html1 point

The only downside I can seem to see with the F20c engines are the high prices they're now commanding, usually north of 3K. The S2000 stopped being produced in 2009 which means decent engines are becoming harder and harder to source and there aren't many low mileage examples out there. The other alternative is a Spoon Sports-built F20c crate engine, but they start at £9.5k at the moment1 point

You can just picture the 5G mast-burners trying to post images of their ‘victory’ then complaining they can’t get a signal.....1 point

Wishing all your family the very best. When you look at these pictures and see what the NHS dose and the equipment needed to do it, it is hard to understand why people think we can do it on the cheap and they should get less funding.1 point

The good old reserve - large brown paper bag over head and top of body, poke two holes out to see and cover with some see through material and totally Covid-19 safe. Added advantage is no one can see what you look like so can carry on hoarding like crazy🤠1 point

Just completed the last Winter job ready for the first day of Spring.... FItted the new Stebel Brio horn to the car. Man it's LOUD...(Phone camera doesn't really do it justice) Two output sound modes; 1; the ubiquitous full bore Stebel death blast and 2; an alternating "La Dolce VIta" tone for more friendly greetings.... Sound output selected via a toggle switch on the dash next to the horn button. Anyway a happier end to a stressful week getting the car to fire up (posted elsewhere).1 point

Hi, the extended floors are 3mm wooden ply! Lightweight, cheap and easy to use and more importantly easy to repair or replace being in a high impact area. Quick sand down slap some paint on. It's going to get clipped on bumps somewhere. It's just fixed where the side panels are riveted on. I removed the rivets and replaced them with rivnut. 6mm I think. Easy off and on. The idea is I wanted all panels right round easy removable with a few bolts. The rear tub being the ball ache was cut (gingerly) top of the rear arch so it's now in 3 sections. This allows the rear section to come right off with about 8 bolts and a couple of plastic bolts holding wheel arches on. Quick unclip of the lights and off it pops. Had to make a few brackets to hold the top together and a few holding the bottom edge of the rear. So the chassis now supports the diffuser and the brackets. The idea was for easy access. And boy does it work. Soooooooo much easier. I also flared the side panels for ease of access mainly. No more cursing lack of space and skinned knuckles. Currently the left side is the original fibreglass one but I've plans to get on with some 1mm aluminium ones beaten by hand soon as I get chance. Once paint is done I'm repainting the cage next, then finishing the custom built heater. I've drawn plans for a 4 way matrix box which allows some creative heating solutions. How do you keep really warm with no screen etc? Simply run a 1in flexy hose feeding warm air into your one piece rain suit... Let it circulate slow moving warm air direct. A standard air vent in the dash won't keep the heat. Plus I've no room for one. I do have one right where my right hand goes look closely at the red band far right there's a simple opening. The car in the images is wrapped. I've removed it since as can be seen. Just debating whether to paint the light pods matching white or leave black? The 4 arches are now white which should make the car wider and more safety visible. I've been told a few times before it's hard to see being black. You mentioned heat.. Not a problem. Mega series cars have enclosed flat floors with a small cut out where part of the sump comes through the bottom bout an inch. We've just been sent home from Nissan for a week or so so I might get it well on the way! Self isolation... 👍1 point

I was going to fit this to my old car but never got round to it. I have the following parts: - Megajolt Lite Jr ignition only ECU with loom plug and tails. This has the vacuum option so can be used with either a TPS, vacuum advance or neither - QED steel crank pulley with integrated 36-1 trigger wheel (you have to file a tooth off to suit when positioned). - QED crank sensor bracket to suit above and zetec sensor (attaches to sump bolts) - QED distributor blanking plate - Programming serial cable made by my own fair hand. - Used Ford coil pack with loom connector and tails. - Used coil pack mounting bracket from a Ka (might need mods for 711M?) - Used plug leads. - Used EDIS4 with loom plug and tails. - Used crank sensor loom connector and tails. You will need (at least): Software - download free from web Instructions - as above Map for your car - as above but I think I did load a base map on A PC with a serial port (or adapter) Zetec crank sensor. (I did have one but can't find it.) To create a loom by linking all the tails up. Used parts are not tested and sold as such. I'd like £225 for this. The QED parts were about £120 alone and make a nice, neat trigger installation. Megajolt was working ok when I last powered it up a couple of years ago. I will refund in full if that doesn't work provided all parts are returned unused at your cost. I will refund 50% if the Megajolt has issues and you want to keep the other parts or have used them. If you damage it from wiring it up wrong, that's down to you. Hopefully that's fair but if you want different terms, please agree BEFORE purchase. I can post at cost if required, or collect from just outside Bicester.1 point
