  1. This made me smile- I'm still a bit undecided about my vote direction this coming Thursday. I've obviously taken into consideration what I consider to be the following swaying points on the two main parties. On the one hand the Conservative Boris Johnson is a bit of a rascal with the ladies and can sometimes bend the truth a bit, he’s also a bit posh. And on the other hand.. Labours Jeremy Corbyn Invited two IRA members to parliament two weeks after the Brighton bombing. Attended bl**** Sunday commemoration with bomber Brendan McKenna. Attended meeting with Provisional IRA member Raymond McCartney. Hosted IRA linked Mitchell McLaughlin in parliament. Spoke alongside IRA terrorist Martina Anderson. Attended Sinn Fein dinner with IRA bomber Gerry Kelly. Chaired Irish republican event with IRA bomber Brendan MacFarlane. Attended Bobby Sands commemoration honouring IRA terrorists. Stood in minute’s silence for IRA gunmen shot dead by the SAS. Refused to condemn the IRA in Sky News interview. Refused to condemn the IRA on Question Time. Refused to condemn IRA violence in BBC radio interview. Signed EDM after IRA Poppy massacre massacre blaming Britain for the deaths. Arrested while protesting in support of Brighton bomber’s co-defendants. Lobbied government to improve visiting conditions for IRA killers. Attended Irish republican event calling for armed conflict against Britain. Hired suspected IRA man Ronan Bennett as a parliamentary assistant. Hired another aide closely linked to several convicted IRA terrorists. Heavily involved with IRA sympathising newspaper London Labour Briefing. Put up £20,000 bail money for IRA terror suspect Roisin McAliskey. Didn’t support IRA ceasefire. Said Hamas and Hezbollah are his “friends“. Called for Hamas to be removed from terror banned list. Called Hamas “serious and hard-working“. Attended wreath-laying at grave of Munich massacre terrorist. Attended conference with Hamas and PFLP. Photographed smiling with Hezbollah flag. Attended rally with Hezbollah and Al-Muhajiroun. Repeatedly shared platforms with PFLP plane hijacker. Hired aide who praised Hamas’ “spirit of resistance“. Accepted £20,000 for state TV channel of terror-sponsoring Iranian regime. Opposed banning Britons from travelling to Syria to fight for ISIS. Defended rights of fighters returning from Syria. Said ISIS supporters should not be prosecuted. Compared fighters returning from Syria to Nelson Mandela. Said the death of Osama Bin Laden was a “tragedy“. Wouldn’t sanction drone strike to kill ISIS leader. Voted to allow ISIS fighters to return from Syria. Opposed shoot to kill. Attended event organised by terrorist sympathising IHRC. Signed letter defending Lockerbie bombing suspects. Wrote letter in support of conman accused of fundraising for ISIS. Spoke of “friendship” with Mo Kozbar, who called for destruction of Israel. Attended event with Abdullah Djaballah, who called for holy war against UK. Called drone strikes against terrorists “obscene”. Boasted about “opposing anti-terror legislation”. Said laws banning jihadis from returning to Britain are “strange”. Accepted £5,000 donation from terror supporter Ted Honderich. Accepted £2,800 trip to Gaza from banned Islamist organisation Interpal. Called Ibrahim Hewitt, extremist and chair of Interpal, a “very good friend”. Accepted two more trips from the pro-Hamas group PRC. Speaker at conference hosted by pro-Hamas group MEMO. Met Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh several times. Hosted meeting with Mousa Abu Maria of banned group Islamic Jihad. Patron of Palestine Solidarity Campaign – marches attended by Hezbollah. Compared Israel to ISIS, Hamas, Hezbollah and al-Qaeda. Said we should not make “value judgements” about Britons who fight for ISIS. Received endorsement from Hamas. Attended event with Islamic extremist Suliman Gani. Blamed beheading of Alan Henning on Britain. Gave speech in support of Gaddafi regime. Signed EDM spinning for Slobodan Milosevic. Blamed Tunisia terror attack on “austerity”. Voted against banning support for the IRA. Voted against the Prevention of Terrorism Act three times during the Troubles. Voted against emergency counter-terror laws after 9/11. Voted against outlawing the glorification of terror. Voted against control orders. Voted against increased funding for the security services to combat terrorism. So it’s a tricky one really 🤷‍♂

  2. I'm guessing a Sunday afternoon would be best in summer months, there are regular meetings Tuesday & Thursday evenings but could be a grim drive home in dark as they don't finish till 10pm ish. Once calendars finalised I'll happily put avaible dates up and see if there's interest. I could easily organise & reserve a parking area to keep everyone together.

  5. What a fantastic post! Bravo! In my humble opinion, it's a sad day that someone with his views is even allowed to stand in the election at all... I'm a huge advocate for free speech, free elections, open debate, equality for all, fair taxation, help for the less fortunate, opportunity for all etc. The movement to the right wing on the continent (and over the pond with Trump) was a big worry for me, as was some of the racist (even fascist) rhetoric surrounding the Brevity debate. The thought of Corbyn in the big chair is just as scary to me!

  6. Still it’s nearly over. Leaving for a final leaders rally later, disappointing that the invitation has to say please don’t publish anything on social media to try and avoid protest groups and abuse at the entrance. So it’s a secret venue, secret time, secret party, secret leader and I’m not confirming that it is in fact today. ... and I’ll take several underground trains in case I’m being followed.

  8. Spot on and what is worrying all of us that can remember that far back the most. I don't think some of his supporters truely understand just how quickly and how bad things will get if JC gets into power. It's why in the past apart from Blair no labour party has won a 2nd term in modern times.

  9. To introduce myself over the years I’ve dabbled in motorsport, bit of circuit racing, spent far too many misspent years on the ovals, built a locost in 2000 which I owned for 17 years, started with a pinto, 893 blade, standard busa then supercharged sold in 2017 when I acquired tango. I ran the last 3 years in the Javelin sprint but the shake up doesn't make it kit friendly anymore so thought I would come to play with you guys. Anyhow it says you like photos, here’s one from 2018, never ever touched a cone on a sprint, honest 😏 many more pics if you want em.

  10. Evening and welcome. I’m in Horsington just north of Woodhall. I use my Westy all year and try to join in with the Peak District trips out as they are a really great bunch and the roads are good. We generally eat our way around the Peaks. Keep an eye out on the advertised trips and we could always go in convoy to the start point. Normally takes a couple of hours from here to the meeting point but this part of the drive can also be fun. Andrew

  13. https://fullfact.org/online/LGI-photo-boy-facebook/ Quote from fact check 6th paragraph---"Sarah Williment told the publication that her son, Jack, had been taken to hospital on December 3rd with suspected pneumonia. Jack was moved from a bed due to an emergency arrival and put in a room without a bed. Jack, wanting to sleep, had to use the floor. He stayed overnight, but according to Mrs Williment, it took him 13 hours after arrival to be given a bed on a ward". Quote from fact check paras 7 to 9--- "Dr Yvette Oade, the Chief Medical Officer of the hospital’s NHS trust, apologising for what happened and confirming key aspects of the story". That statement says, in part: “Within four hours a decision was made to admit Jack to our Children’s Assessment and Treatment (CAT) Unit for further monitoring overnight. Unfortunately, the unit was also experiencing exceptionally high levels of demand which meant that Jack was required to wait in the clinical treatment room in the Paediatric Emergency Department until a bed became available. Jack was admitted to the CAT Unit later that evening and was discharged home the following morning after a medical review". “We are extremely sorry that there were only chairs available in the treatment room, and no bed. This falls below our usual high standards, and for this we would like to sincerely apologise to Jack and his family.” Quote from fact check para 11--- "While we are not in a position to verify whether the woman’s (Facebook) account was hacked, the fact that there is no additional evidence provided, that she has denied knowledge of the situation to the media, and that the hospital has confirmed key aspects of the incident suggest that this (Facebook posted) claim is not trustworthy". Reading the fact check makes it clear that only chairs were available for the lad in the treatment room. Only after 4 hours could he lay on a trolley when one became available. When there are respiratory problems the blood oxygenation goes down and the heart pumps faster to compensate and keep vital organs oxygenated. With the heart working harder the patient will typically want to lay down as then the heart isn't working against gravity. So bed rest is best, but if unavailable rest on a trolley or third option lay on the floor.

  18. The item that I don't agree on is using the nhs as an object of failure and blame. Irrespective of which party is in power I've only ever had good service and support from the nhs. For all of my 57 years I've not had an unreasonable experience. Have I been that lucky or have others been that unlucky. Or is it expectation. Or is it just a political pawn. If we want better are we prepared to pay either in taxes or direct for its use. I suspect not. All parties are pi**ing me off and I don't think it's unreasonable considering how old the UK parliament is to be more robust.

  19. I guess the point of being retired is that we don’t have to worry about a job but do have to worry about pension funds, assets and family prospects. Being a little older means we remember a bit more history. Like Labour running out of money in the late 70s and the conditions placed on us by the IMF and the winter of discontent. That JC Labour leader was not as left wing as this JC, and didn’t spend as much as this JC wants to.

  20. If our pension funds don’t get invested, then there’s going to be an awful lot of poor seniors about. Receiving bonuses for good investments is part and parcel of World Monetary System, it’s the way the world works.

  21. I wouldn't call our pension funds "venture capitalists", and they are the biggest investors in most of the privatised industries, that it except those which are now owned by over seas corporations!

  22. Might that be because onw a shocking number "journalists" no longer leave their desk? The old school journos are getting few and far between, the rest now do phone interviews and copy eachothers stories from the internet.
