  2. Reading this thread reminded me of brother and sister in law.....who like their Holidays, but once at the destination, find the local and spend their time in there.... Each to their own and all that, but what a waste spending most of the time in a pub - might as well stay at home and do that? The point of my post - they went to Egypt...found a nice pub / hostelry....you can see where this is going........ Pyramids.......Naahhh, didnt bother....... We were flabergasted.....thats the polite version.... Mart.

  5. Arggh nothing worse. It's an unwritten rule for me when away with work. Make the most of It and go see the places. I've done it a few times leaving everyone else mall shopping and b*******ed off on my own. I come home knackered but sod it lifes too short for shopping!

  6. Sounds about right they will twist is round to make it anyone else's fault but their own. What has gone on recently has shown just how corrupt and dishonest they really are. However aren't we getting rid of that corrupt speaker on the 31st Oct, who has ruined the impartiality of his office. What annoys me the most is when the idiot Politicians stand up and say it doesn't matter to leave the decision for another 6 months / 1 year etc. It's the indiscision which is now damaging the country more than anything.

  7. I was at the Car Vault earlier this month after attending a show at the Dubai Autodrome. They have some amazing cars including 3 beautiful Westfield's... Dropped into their new showroom on route to the Airport and yet even more amazing cars including 2 Bugatti's......

  8. Pretend you're not from Yorkshire and take a taxi Your company's paid for your trip to Dubai so spend a little to see what you can whilst there as it would cost you a lot more to fund your own trip from the UK! I regret not visiting the Great Wall on my work trips to China. A colleague I was with didn't want to go and I went shopping with him on our day off rather than visiting the wall etc.

  9. I took a walk this morning to try and find it. Google maps said it was 5km from my hotel, but with no data or phone service I didn't find it. Headed in the right direction but I underestimated the heat and distance so I abandoned my quest and went back to the hotel.

  10. Owing to retirement from the Sport I am selling my ex Andy Dunbar Westfield. This successful car is currently one of the most competitive cars around having won many Hill Climb/Sprint events whilst in my ownership and Andy's. BRIEF SPEC Wide Bodied SEIW Wide Track Rose-jointed Adjustable Suspension Flat Floor F.I.A./M.S.A. Certified Roll cage Nitron Double Adjustable Dampers Aluminium Hubs Quick Release Momo Steering Wheel Tillet Seat Millington-Series II - 320HP Engine 6 speed Sequential Quaife Gearbox Geartronics Pnuematic Paddleshift Recently re-wired and Launch control to be fitted this week. Comes with V5 and includes 16 wheels/12 Tyres - 2 sets slicks and 1 set wets all in excellent condition. As an alternative to the Millington engine the high spec all steel Red Top (Vauxhall) engine that was originally fitted to the car is available at a lesser price. This is a well- sorted car. Please no time wasters- this is a genuine car and the price doesn't reflect the true value. £28000

  11. 14 Oct 2019 https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/10123037/extinction-rebellion-founder-central-america-luxury/ "A FOUNDER of the Extinction Rebellion protests has been accused of “blind hypocrisy” after it was revealed she had flown to Central America for a luxury holiday despite leading calls for a “rapid reduction” in air travel. Gail Bradbrook clocked up 11,000 air miles as she flew to Costa Rica for a week’s £2,500 stay at the New Life Iboga retreat then a week touring the tropical paradise." I'm all for cleaner air and fewer carcinogens in the environment but NOT for going back to the Stone Age in 2025 and we need a better approach which must include the major polluters of USA, India and China.

  12. Watched the Rugby first and then the end of the “Non Event” 😪 Afternoon Points Of Order was the SNP mostly, moaning about this and that- as they usually do. I would gladly give them independence just to remove them from our Parliament.

  15. Hence the un-Parliamentary phrase 'for Fawkes sake' when expressing frustration at our useless MPs. Labour and Corbyn rejected the deal before reading it YET now say they need yonks to study it and raise objections; what tosh. LibunDem and SNP position is to reject so they don't need to study the Withdrawal Treaty to vote against it. That should shorten the debating time a lot. If amendments are made by Parliament then the EU Withdrawal Deal may not be acceptable to EU and would need to be reopened for a second time and once again renegotiated IF the EU agreed. A General Election in mid-Winter (I can't wait for Brenda from Bristol's reaction) where history shows us that 50% of the seats never change Party might still achieve a hung Parliament----is there a solution in the last two words(comedy).

  16. I did hear a quote saying that parliament had longer time to scrutinise the legislation over circus animals than boris wants to give them to scrutinise the future of the UK. What's old boris hiding in there he doesn't want everyone to see? I want this sorting as much as the next person and really cant see the issue in a small delay of a couple of weeks or a month. We only get to do this once. And it affects us for generations. Why rush it in 3 days when you've been fannying around for 3 years.

  25. Happy to do it! It's quite nice for me to have a bit of a record of things anyway. With the numbers of countries we've travelled through and miles covered, some stuff can blur together, so taking the time to write about it here helps me to keep the memories a bit clearer! Glad you're enjoying it too!
