I'm tall and use an aeroscreen and found that I needed to add a small extension to the screen to limit the buffeting. I experimented with cardboard and came up with the final height and shape that gave the best protection. I made a clear plexiglass extension that you can see in the photo if you look closely. I know that if I could move the screen back and closer to my head that it would work better (like you if I move my head forward i get cleaner air) but that's not realistic. Mine now works very well for me as long there's not a strong wind blowing from the driver's side of the car - if that is the case I get more buffeting than I'd like. dave3 points

Santa Pod isn't can't really be classed as southern England which is also good 150 mile trip for me and Three Sisters is 250 miles or more. For me it's not so much the distance but the time it takes to get there and home again which would spoil a great day and it's not practical to stay overnight.1 point

@markat Haynes breakfast club 1st Sunday every month. Bit of a hike for you though I guess! Believe another one starting at Froginwell vineyard just East of Exeter at Woodburn Salterton. Think they want £5 just for the pleasure of driving into a field though!1 point
