It's NEVER too hot for a Westfield, are you nuts? A jacket, mon dieu! Shorts and a little t shirt, loose linen shirt to stop burning... Yes I was also a biker! Only pulling up in the shade Betty Swollocks. That's why I drive a wez! Ps. I don't have any... You know whats3 points

The SSOT need prior approval to spend funds from the main club committee. Blyton's finances have to balance to justify its existence and has different finances to the Speed Series. As a club on our own, we need people to enter our event and other competitors were being put off entering due to potentially small classes with not enough numbers to warrant a trophy plus the lack of competition. I'm sure there would have been a trophy up for grabs in whichever class you entered. You just need to win it and not just take part to do so. The photography is for club publicity not just for the Speed Series and some select venues were decided upon for variety. None of these decisions are Terry's own and are approved by the SSOT and also the main committee so stop trying to give him a hard time for no reason.2 points

if you can get one with the electronic valve. makes everything easier. pre oiling before startup. mine was a fit and forget item i never turned it off and i can confirm that having it switched on with the sump off makes a big mess2 points

I have to agree, it was the best day in the Peak District for me in along time! I got the car home under its own steam and not making any funny noises 😊2 points

I was at the factory with the ASBO 2 weeks ago looking to replace my expansion / header tank that's weeping through a crack caused (I hope) by old age and the plastic going brittle, on arrival my left exhaust pipe was trying to escape due to a bolt coming adrift.... I already knew from a phone call that Westfield no longer supply the same tank, but what wasn't apparent to anyone until we tried to 'test fit' the replacement was that their new option won't fit the V8 Scuttle - it's too tall, so what follows is a nice tale of an abundance of help from everyone involved. The FINIS code was located and gifted to me, plus a new bolt located for my exhaust, the loan of spanners to fit said bolt was also no problem, thankyou to all at Westfield. I called Brooklyn Ford (now Bristol Street Motors) Spoke to a guy in parts, gave him the code and he opens with "oh that's an expansion tank, yeah, £86 plus the VAT", I'm gobsmacked and ask "have you got one, or two?"....... "Nope" says he..... I'm gutted, he says "I'll have a look in group and call you back" I'm not hopeful that I'll get the call but in less than 2 minutes the phone's ringing, he says "none in group or motorsport division sorry...... sooooo I'm going to put it on a system we've got to see if ANYONE has got one, they were discontinued a while ago you know ! If I haven't heard anything in 24 hours then chances are we won't find one for you". Once again the cynic in me is winning and I don't think I'll get a call...... not even 10 minutes later and he rings me and says "got one, it's in Salisbury, I'll send you an email with the details, you click the link on it, the username is your email add, the password is your reg number, you pay for it and they'll post it" Thankyou Brooklyn Ford Redditch (I think it was Graham) It's arrived, and for a total cost of £78 delivered with a note saying that it's possibly the last one in the country that any Ford dealer has, thankyou Foray Motor Group (and for the ~£30 Discount). Sooooo the old one once removed will be going to Radtec so they can blueprint a replacement, that will give other V8 owners some options that don't need new holes drilled ! It's only recently dawned on me that my SEiGHT is 20 years old, so bit's like this are going to get difficult to source as time goes by, but I've had a pleasant experience and had some great help with the Brooklyn Garage being the big surprise, they didn't make a penny but made me feel like a top priority, I'm going to take the man some beers! Oh and I've got some new seats and harnesses too...... I really should stay away from the Parts dept...... I bet a Fiver that if enough people read this I'll get a few offers of "I've got one of those in my Shed/Garage", If I'm wrong I'll put the fiver in the Air Ambulance Box ! Nem......1 point

Martin. I assure you that I am not missing the point. However, Blyton could not go ahead with just WSCC participants alone and other championship contenders are reluctant to come to events where there will be low numbers in classes as it hampers their possible points allocations and chances of a trophy. We need them to make it viable. I understand why you feel like you do but there is no real easy answer without taking a financial hit1 point

But surely not at the cost of the event making a loss due to not attracting enough entries from elsewhere to justify its existence. The event could not run with just WSCC entries alone. Numbers have already dwindled over the years from well over 100 to 60 something. Thats over 40 entry fees that we have lost since the event began1 point

@si_salisbury sorry to hear about your lunch, we thought it was just late coming out of the kitchen. Glad you enjoyed the day, I double checked my tyre pressure when I got home and it was still 18 psi, so it must just have been an optical illusion, thanks for the use of your compressor anyway. Hope to see you again soon Simon.1 point

Lets not forget we also saved that family from a very very long walk due to their flat car battery. Brian saved the day with his power pack.1 point

My preference is cycle wings but swept look good on an old style Westfield. Swept looks fabulous on a solid colour cars with all chrome fittings and old school wheels,. Cap'n Colonial' s is a good example of how it should be.1 point

Some may say I'm greedy but I couldn't decide so I have one car with swept and one car with cycle. 🤗1 point

Hence my “quick release” ish flared arches, it takes a couple of minutes to whip one off and it doesn’t need any access from inside the car.1 point

I'm fairly sure 2 weeks back Sainsburys had coffee flavour ice cream (well known brand) at £2 per litre but checking today it's £3.50. Might be my memory or hot weather/supply and demand or politics/currency etc. Typical for price to increase just when you want something.0 points
