Well hears a big shout out of thanks to ash (rednop on the westfield forum) and Reid for speed motor factors in Aberdeen both went above and beyond to get the parts needed to me So all sorted , road tested and ready for a wee romp up to catch the ferry int morning

I have just spent a very good half day with Steve and his team at Vibration Free near Bicester. It is a company who specialises in balancing anything that rotates from car related up to helicopter parts. I have had a problem with my motorhome ever since I built it with a vibration through the drive train. The dealers said it was the propshaft as they had fitted another temporarily and it was cured, so a new prop was made, expensive as it was three pieces and it was better but still bad enough to make driving a chore. There followed several more attempts to sort it out and it got gradually worse It took Steve 3 hours to sort it out balancing it on the van and now it drives better than it has ever done. He explained in detail what he was doing step by step until he had each part balanced singly and together. I wonder just how much money I spent that was not really needed in the past. If anyone needs and engine balancing or indeed anything I could not recommend them more highly. There is also a few good projects to look at that Steve owns and races in historic races all over Europe. I am not connected in anyway just very happy, hope this post is okay

I wouldnt want to change the car it is . The Honda will stay in this one in my ownership anyway. Thing is it looks right under the bonnet. I wouldnt want to fit throttle bodies either.

+1 for AutoAid. 40-odd quid a year and it covers you and wife for any car you're in (even if you don't own it I think). Used 'em on the Westy when my throttle cable snapped leaving Stoneleigh last year and they were great - recovered me home on the right sort of truck

Does a Toyo R888 (or any circuit tyre) not need to be at it's optimum operating temperature, for maximum grip, what ever use it's being put to? Hot pressures should be the same should they not? Cold pressures could be different. FWIW, I use 18psi hot, which will cool down to 14 to 16psi cold.

As title, bought a large carbon K&N filter for my supercharged Westfield, but couldn't fit it in the gap. 3 1/2" inlet. 300mm long, 150mm wide, 150mm high. Very light! It's new and unused, but does have some chips on the top carbon panel. Open to offers.

Well for what its worth in a lightweight Westfield whether on slicks or 1B radial tyres I would use 17 to 18 psi every time

If you have an Android phone there is a handy app called Keep, which is essentially a digital post it note. They can be very handy I'm sure there is something similar but requiring iTunes/iCloud access for iOS devices

I have been giving some thought to a change of wheel for quite some time, whilst I like and will be keeping the OZ Ultraleggaras I have wanted something with a bit more "bling".Always liked the quality of Image wheels but always found the price a bit hard to stomach - typically £1500-1600 for a set of 4 in 15" without tyresStumbled across a set in the correct fitment for my car a coupe of weeks ago and made a cheeky offer which was accepted. Whilst not new they had been on the car for only 600 miles and had been stored for the last 3 years.Although they do not look it they are 3 piece, the bolts are mounted on the inside of the rim which means cleaning less of a chore.Trial fitment only tonight as they need a lot of polishing but really happy with the look - even better is that they are 1kg per wheel / tyre lighter than the Ultraleggaras.

I don't think you need to keep the ultraleggeras any more. I think you should pass them to another forum member at a very good rate not that I'm hinting obviously. New wheels look great btw
