Good run out to Llyn Brenig today, just the two of us but lots of snow on the hills

So I had the car a little over a year and whilst I was happy with the looks I thought it could be modernised a bit over winter as it was a bit classic looking. I wanted to make it a bit more aggressive. Chuffed to bits on how it turned out. 2017 2018 Wheels powder coated in speedine gold (nod to my JDM roots) Carbon nv arches and doors Stripes off eBay.

Quite a few buy a full kit it, for me I’ve just brought the starter kit both times for a few reasons. 1. I could not afford to buy a complete kit 2. You can potently make some good savings sourcing parts from various suppliers. 3. You can tailor the car more to your taste fitting parts from different suppliers. 4. Your not fully committed to the finished car, for instance my first one was ordered for a pinto engine but i ended up fitting a Toyota 4age.

As one of the founder members of the Fiat Coupe club, I agree that typing out the answer to “what’s the best oil” or “how much boost can I run” is far more hassle than “do a search” however, new members are the lifeblood of any club / forum, so its great to have such understanding answers to questions you’ve been asked many times before anyway - back on topic - car now collected, driven around for a bit and now tucked up in the garage ready for tomorrow’s snow...... I have a couple of minor issues already - throttle response is a bit fluffy and the tickover is 250rpm too low - it cuts out quite a lot. The throttle will be a mapping issue, but does this also apply to the tickover (or is it just a mechanical throttle stop that needs adjustment?) final question - what headgear and eye protection do people use when not wearing a helmet? A standard beanie hat isn’t wind proof enough and normal safety glasses didn’t stay still and didn’t keep the draught out. I’m enjoying this already......

Thank goodness for that! I was half expecting to scroll down and see yet another black wheeled Westfield. (Nothing against them, my other car had them, and my current one has gunmetal), it’s just so nice to see something different. I went back and forth so many times on whether to have gold on my current wheels. I’d even ordered them, before ringing up to change my mind! So good to see someone do it, I knew they’d look fab!

Headlights are Venom, came from one of the kitcar accessory shops.

Cheers they were a good read. I'm fine buying cars and know what to look for, but with it being a kit car I wasn' sure if there was anything in particular to them I needed to consider. However when reading those I'd do most of those checks anyway so that's good and doesn't seem as daunting now lol

Bit of a thread drift, sorry, but how nice is it for a newbie to get solid and seasoned advice to an age old question rather than “use the search”. Just goes to prove what a cracking club we have

Now I'm a fully paid-up WSCC member, I can post two more photos I'm collecting the car on Sunday morning, but looking at the weather forecast for Monday, its going straight into the garage The current owner says it is a proper handful in the wet - extremely tail-happy. Can this be engineered out? If I remember correctly, its running Toyo Proxes at about 19psi. I'll have a bundle of questions - for example the throttle response is a bit fluffy coming off idle and it can cut out when cold. Sounds like the map needs tweaking to me. Not sure I fancy mapping it myself, so it will need a pro - any recommendations in the Midlands? I'm enjoying this already and its not even mine yet....

I will be there on Thursday. Done the gardening today. In Westfield news. I've seen it but it's not finished yet.....
