  1. Just get it welded up, it will be fine. It's not like this hasn't been done before

  2. I'll second that. The bus pass comes in handy, free transport to & from my favourite Pub on the HMRC and the Winter Fuel Payment pays for my first trackday of the year. It can't get any better.

  4. I got told I was a trouble maker on mine; after turning up in the Westfield, they asked for a driving license for ID, then the stroppy and very Liberal with a capital L instructor, got upset when it didn't have a photo on, and demanded photo ID. All I had on me with a photo was an MSA Speed License... (The second instructor, who was very good and was actually trying to teach us useful stuff, p******** himself laughing behind her back!)

  5. New kit ordered After completing my Ecoboost westfield project, I decided to look for something a bit different, I will be keeping my Westfield. So my question is would our Westfield members like to follow my build of my Jaguar C type, I thought I would ask first as this is a Westfield forum, if so I will look at making a blog on here Look forward to your responses Chris

  6. This sort of fits in the "Start Line" area of the forum. I won't go into details, but after a frustrating 2 weeks I have decided selling cars/registration numbers is not my forte and I shall be keeping my car and plundering other funding options for a business, I was never 100% certain about selling it so I'm happy with that and it will reside at "yanto towers" for a good while longer, not that I was going to let my membership of the club lapse as i know that within a couple of years I would have drifted back into Westfield ownership. Now, my car is track orientated, my partner has finally decided that she would go out in it occasionally if it had a proper windscreen and side screens, oh and a dry sump oil tank that doesn't broil her feet, this car could well turn into a track spec touring/cruising car. Now, to the hunt for a windscreen; new or used, that is the question? Ian

  7. Step, sat here on the couch I can't remember which box sections go all the way through from front to back if you get what I mean. I think someone mentioned it to brace over the joint if I understood it correctly. It would not be my first choice to brace out or slip joing but you may consider it but carefully on which chassis member you do, again not the first choice. Adding gussets with good intentions in the wrong place could also work against you as the chassis will flex in the wrong places and put undue stress where the manufacture did not intend it to be. It's been said before a good welder with a good welding machine is the way to go and mig welding would be my only choice. Get the chassis bolted/welded down to a flat surface where you can get things inline/square off and you will be halfway there. Good luck and let's us know your progress. Edit: Use the correct grade and specification box tube for any replacements

  8. How negative do you lot want to get. If your not happy repairing a chassis I think you have more than put your point across. Me personally not a problem. Get it welded up or get your wallet out.
